Well... it just ain't rock-n-roll. Because liquids do not have "other halves" - and because in Worm shards produce effects they do depending on situation and personality of the host. So Noelle and Oliver got what they got because of who they were. :( Maybe, if Travelers choose other vials, Noelle could be saved and still not lose it. Maybe.
Story is bittersweet - but it just ain't rock-n-roll. Canon doomed these characters for a reason.

Well put together, with a nice bit of confusion at the start that you played off of. The biggest problem I have with your story is that I just don't find the travelers as very sympathetic characters, mainly because Krouse and Luke are such assholes.
But well done all the same, I enjoyed the twist.
