The part with Norman broke my heart but I think it's accurate with him ussually being away so much. And Brendan is such a sweetheart and a goof, I ADORE this fic: great job! Is it weird if I say you do well with writing an emotionally damaged May? Haha. You managed to do it well in Safekeeping and now here too. The trauma is about something very different, but it was nicely done.

I liked the innocent take you had here. There are obvious hints of attraction, but Brendan is being May's best friend first and foremost, although I'm still totally head-canoning a relationship developing soon ;) I also really enjoyed your characterization of Brendan and the banter he and May exchanged.
