That last line though... ouch

Hey there! I'm here from the r/fanfiction review game! Vaguely familiar with the fandom, but I'd like to leave some feedback.

I'm a little bit confused as when this story takes place in relation to the original story as told by the movie, but I'm going off on a limb and assume its during or shortly after the climax. There's mention of an explosion, but as I recall the movie had several of those so I could be wrong with the timeline. Not that it is super important given that the bulk of the story is a series of flashbacks, but enough that I should mention it.

The story is short and sweet, though I never felt like it actually added or expanded on the relationship between the brothers beyond what we already knew from the original story. It could be due to the story's length, the narrative taking form of several separate flashbacks or a combination of both.

Lastly I'd like to mention that putting things in parenthesis is, at least in my own little head, not a good thing. It feels like brushing up against the 4th wall; like a nudge, nudge, wink, wink from the author to the reader. Just how correct or okay it is as far as proper writing goes, I have no idea. It just really rubs me the wrong way, so it may very well be perfectly fine to use it and I'm the odd one here.
