God I'm just dead here at Pike slowly winning over Kirk like a feral/skittish animal. I can't imagine Pike sitting there at the empty table the week he didn't come- I just love getting insight into all of Kirk's little insecurities about how good the other mentees will be, what to wear, special ordering his wine etc. It's just adorable! Then Pike just slowly, calmly reeling him in. Get look at this relationship- I loveee academy-era Jim!

Well done, I will miss the relationship between Pike and Kirk what little there was it on screen. Thanks for fleshing it out so enjoyably!

I love this. Pike's relationship with Jim is something I always want to see more of... it's not explored in much depth in the movies, and while there are a handful of good fanfiction pieces out there the number is surprisingly small. So thank you for writing this. :) I thought you nailed Pike's mannerisms, by the way.
