I read reviews because I was sure I had missed something, and it is a puppy! What a troll, haha. I, like many others, thought it was a baby.
Anyway, moving on.
THIS IS CUTE! It is a bundle of fluffy goodness, that is short and pleasant and filled with lovely things: cheez-its, pups and some choice Odesta.
'and for the first time, the two have something that they truly own.' the feelz with this one are strong. It's nice seeing Finnick and Annie getting some sweet and fluffy time. I swear almost ninety percent of the odesta that exists is sad. So, I loved this one!

Q: What do you call a sheep with no legs?
A: A cloud.

OMG ZERO THIS IS SO CUUUUTE.

I liked the beginning where it's about paying off the house and they celebrate with Parmesan Cheez-its, LOL. No fancy dinner for these two, just togetherness, a tasty snack and the newest addition to their little family.

I adore the description of the puppy sound asleep on the bed between where they sit, obviously dreaming hard. I really like how you keep in so few words a great description of shifting energy that young animals tend to have. One minute, it's OMGRUNAROUNDGOGOGOGO and the next, they collapse somewhere to recharge. And I'm sure she was jumping on Annie at the shelter—she knew she'd found her new mommy ;) Animals are smart and they sense good people straight off XD

Concrit(ish): I was a bit confused by the narrative saying that the puppy is snoozing between them where they sit and then Annie leaning on the "crib wall". It sounds like puppy is two different places yet there's no indication that they moved her.

But I still love this. I think you should do a sequel some day with older puppy ;)
