Thanks for this story. My biggest challenge watching the show was the way DiNozzo was treated by his so-called colleagues. As if he weren't very competent, as if Gibbs, who spent most of the show drinking coffee, was so much better.

Every time I read this I am surprised this wasn't how they presented it in the series. From what I can tell about the sense of humour of the writers and producers they would have found it hilarious to give Gibbs the honor of Tony's heroism.

This is interesting because if you notice, it's Gibbs who gets a medal for bravery at the end of the episode, one that he makes Tony pick up in his place. To make Gibbs look humble or something. Talk about adding insult to injury to Tony. That is how the episode ended, right?

I think NCIS should have an older Maddie come back for a visit, & she should bring up the rescue in front of everyone, including Gibbs, & she should ask Gibbs why he & she never thanked Tony for saving them. I'm glad that you had Tony leave the team to take another one in Hawaii...I have to read something else...

I like that Tony got all that off his chest.
It would be nice to see him get a chance to tell the rest of the Team the truth.

Gibbs needs to tell what really happened.

Awesome one-shot, I think this one could make a great story if continued from this point could use it to make a cross over for NCIS LA or Hawaii Five-0, also the idea of Tony going back to DC at some stage either for an assignment or being promoted and reassigned to DC would also make a cool story.
