I think the reaction of Lisbon that you wrote in this story to Jane claiming that he won't leave again was spot on. And as strange as it is, I thought the fact that Jane was somewhat okay with it too was realistic. I mean, this is going to sound weird but that was how I felt about it. I got why Jane had to leave and get that it is too soon for Lisbon to believe that he isn't going to leave again but at the same time she is mature enough and knows Jane enough to not throw a fit over it. Great writing.

The fact that Lisbon's mini speech on Jane's ring actually sounded similar to what Jane said about it in White Orchids and since this story was written prior to the episode, it shows that you have a pretty good idea on who they are and what it meant to them. Fantastic.

Starry19, you are by far my favorite writer out there for the Mentalist. You have an amazing talent in really understanding the characters inside out, and whatever you write seems SO believable. If I were Bruno Heller, I would've had you as part of the writing crew. Please please pleaaase continue writing. Let Jane and Lisbon remain alive through your stories. FYI, I'm savoring each one of your stories that I haven't read, so that I won't feel so lost!

Had to find this story again after watching the finale: you kind of hit close to home with the ring, it was only Jane and a shorter version. Great!

This is a gorgeous tag. Moving and sweet and perfect. I would have liked to have seen something like the first half in the show, but the second half, we pretty much got in some form. Your story was very prescient! Please do keep writing- I love the way you write and I promise I'll keep reading anything you post. I'm trying really hard to review everything I read now so you writers will know we're still here! Loved this and how true you wrote the characters. Definitely wish for something like this to happen! It's got him deciding to remove the ring, with no persuasion from her. And then her showing how precious it is and her understanding of how precious it is, by slipping it onto her necklace. Thank you! And here's to a merry (bittersweet) finale!
