Wha-you can't just end the story there and not update! I don't believe I've ever been so upset at a cliffhanger before.

But thank you for your hard work up til now. I truly enjoyed reading this story.

I love your writing style. It kept me up all night reading; never had I read a fanfiction that could make me do so. The tension and suspense was built up brilliantly, while I felt that the portrayal of heartbreak and unrequited love was also heart rending af.

I have little hope of it ever being brought to completion, but I wanted to convey to you my heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding job you've done. I loved your writing style and I found that you managed to grasp each character's personality as if you were the writer himself. In all honesty, I was absolutely in love with this fanfic for the 1st 6 chapters. Like I said before (in a guest review), the chapter where 8man broke Yuis chocolate genuinely caused me to shed a couple tears. The 2nd half of the story, though, had a drastic drop in enjoyment for me. The chapter with Iroha was good, but I don’t really like that you took the fic in that direction. The next chapters act as buildup for the finale, which causes its problems to reflect on them as well. My real gripe is with the final chapter, is what I’m saying. Wtf was that ending. Despite my feelings about it tho, I thank you for stopping this fic at a point where there was some closure. This ending was better than no ending at all. And I also thank you for the absolutely amazing emotional rollercoaster (haha get it) that (most of) this fic was.

I liked how you wrote the characters and developed the story, but I did not like how Hachiman dealt with the other girls and that Haruno was attracted to him.

You write 8 man very well, so congratulations. It's the plot of the story that I have a problem with, though, so please forgive me as I pick it apart.

Everything comes down to the ending. For one, I thought it was very unsatisfying that Hachiman doesn't actually have an "ahah" moment and confront his own hipocrisy. He just sort of...goes along with Hayato and co.'s plan. That's not character growth, that's deus ex machina. The whole thing felt very contrived, on top of forced marriages being cliche and anachronistic.

The worst part was the scene where Yuki's dad parots Hachiman's own philosophy back at him, which I love only in theory. It's such a cool idea, but it needed better execution. You literally had him twirl a cigar while giving a big evil speech. A lot more subtlety was needed here. And not only that, but 8-man doesn't even react to it. This could have been his "ahah" moment, and/or where he shows how much he's changed. But he doesn't. It's a wasted opportunity.

Moreover, I really feel that Yukinon is done the biggest disservice. She's supposed to be the white mirror of Hachiman...someone who accepts his ideas, but uses different methods (trying to better the world rather than live by its cruel logic). She wouldn't go along with the arranged marriage, period. It's fine if she treats 8-man badly for not confessing to her considering her own hypocrisies and inability to confess, but only as long as it's framed as a character flaw in the story that she learns to get over. This didn't happen. Instead, we get a Yukinon that's robbed of her agency, feels out of character, and has no growth.

Lastly...her dad's smile. What was up with that? Was he playing an act the whole time? This makes no sense because he has no reason to care that much about a guy he's never met. How could he even know Hachiman's twisted outlook on love? The way you wrote him, it's as if he'd been reading his mind for the whole story. More character interaction was needed to make this believable. Moreover, the idea that he might have actually used his daughter as a pawn if 8-man didn't call his bluff is self-invalidating because, if he was, it means he's a jerk with no reason to care about her happiness to begin with.

Like I said though, the way you write itself is very good and you obviously give a very enjoyable voice to Hachiman himself. His thoughts were as much fun to read in this story as they were to listen to in the anime.
