Wonderful little slice of Christmas cookery you've got going on here...and I don't just mean that pudding. I knew what it was they were cooking right away, I love Christmas pudding, though it definitely doesn't get made like that in this house! lol And there is no mince in it anymore. But the brandy and the hard sauce definitely do make an appearance.
This was well-written as always, and in character for these men. "Mule wasn't going to trot" was about as perfect a description for Duncan as I've ever heard when he gets into one of those stubborn moods, and it made me laugh aloud.
