Lovely Christmas chapter. I think Rhett would definitely be up to date with new kids toys and would spoil them had he been "allowed" to. I love Scarlett's indifference to Ashley.

No one should skip this chapter. It is absolute perfection!

It Is actually harder to repurpose than to create an all new plotline. There is more room for error which is hard to coverup because people are so familiar with the original. I think you've done a masterful job merging your story and the original.

My favorite thing about this chapter was Scarlett's realization that Rhett is her future. Secondly, I like the twist regarding the mills. I would have liked him to go with Scarlett to Tara but at least he acknowledges that he misses her. Well done.

That was an interesting tactic on Rhett's part to get Scarlett to relinquish the mills. They seem to be communicating so well that I'm worried something will happen to set them back. Rhett seems much more thoughtful at times then he was In the book but it works.

It's nice to see both Scarlett and Rhett recognizing their mistakes. They both made so many. Rhett really needs to stop running away from her. I don't think he realizes the damage he's doing. They are both such poor communicators. The card scene was cute and insightful at the same time.

The interaction with the children was so well written and I like how Rhett took particular interest in Wade. They both needed the emotional release at the end of this chapter. They never helped each other grieve after the accident or Bonnie's death in the novel, so I hope they take this opportunity and are able to make their marriage work.

I love the way you write Rhett. I feel like you've nailed his thoughts perfectly. His thoughts on Scarlett and Bonnie were particularly interesting. I'm glad that he has decided to no longer abdicate his responsibility to this wife and children. This was such a fantastic chapter.

Very interesting start with Rhett going into Scarlett's room and Scarlett waking up long enough that he feels the need to stay. There is so much promise in that simple action. You can certainly feel the dread that Rhett feels. I've definitely been drawn into this story.
