Wow.
That was... unexpectedly sad.

I have to say, I really, really enjoyed this! You really showed Gilderoy in a far more positive light than I expect, but I rather enjoyed it. I could totally imagine Ron and Gilderoy bonding over chess and I think the scenario is very sweet. Really awesome fic!
LadyKatherine29 chapter 1 . 2/4/2015
I liked how you wrote Lockheart. Very much him, but in a way a better him. Not the vile con artist who bailed out on doing the right thing. For himself and three school children. He's a birlliant mix of the man he wants to be. An the man who had the memory whipe coming. Kudos. This was excellent.
alyssialui chapter 1 . 2/4/2015
I love discovering stories which show Gilderoy in the hospital. He has some semblance of his past life but he has lost a good chunk of who he was with that misfired memory spell. I love that you kept his smug and arrogant attitude though. I love how you also describe his considerate nature in letting Ron win. But then it's sweet that Ron visited Gilderoy and then continued after the end of the war. Great warm story.
Aldira chapter 1 . 2/3/2015
I loved this, even though it was really short. You managed to convey Gilderoy's egotistical yet pitiable character so well in just a few short words. His thought process is very believable as well, what with him stroking his ego every now and then. Ron visiting Gilderoy is ridiculously sweet and I really wished that happened in canon because it would have added a new and meaningful insight to Ron.

I like this! It's a silly but rather fitting look into (what's left of) Lockhart's mind. My main complaint is that I wish it were a bit longer; I can imagine why Ron chooses to come (feeling somewhat responsible for Lockhart's amnesia) but wish it was explored a bit.

Anyway, nice work!
