This is a powerful theme, the reality that the show often reflected that not everything is black and white. Things aren’t simple, sometimes decisions must be made against wants. Wonderfully written.

Your story reminded me a little of the madison bridges! especially for that inner struggle between letting go of that great love because of duty and still feel that you could never forget it and will always live in your memories. I agree with sometimes loving is sacrificing yourself for those you love and sacrificing what is most precious to you

I love the bittersweetness of this story so much. It's realistic in so many ways and it just shows that their loved never died they just had to sacrifice it for the greater good.

Very amazing story! I can not believe that this is the first one you've written for Avatar. Your characterization of every one is spot on and I'm so glad that I found this story. I have a weakness for angsty stories!

You should consider writing more for ATLA, whether that be for Zutara, or other ships. This was excellently written and I hope to see more of you in the future!

I was actually very misty-eyed during this last scene.

I guess it's the realist in me who has seen something similar to this happen, and the hopeless romantic that is sad to see the couple forever asundered from each other.
