Maurice is the bomb, however, is he the only orangutan? Do you think that Ceasar would be sending parties to look for other apes to join the colony? There would be more apes in the city than simply ones at a lab, ones in the zoo and those at that center? Pet apes that dont want to leave their dying owners? What about apes that havent been exposed to the ALZ? At this point the human population would be in its anarchy stage, would there be encounters in the area? Bad encourters that send Kobo off his rocket cueing lectures on why she should hate every humans guts? Ah man so many possibilities with your story I really hope you can power though whenever writers block comes along!

Very nice story. May I suggest a scene where she asked her father about his scars? Also her wondering about what is in the city where do the apes keep the horses? That could be interesting to put in? Those are massive and strong creatures, she could be naturally very interested in them.
