Kasuna chapter 18 . 9/26/2018
Very wonderful and amazingly done! It's been a while but I hope you are doing well and haven't forgotten about this! I'm eager to read more as this is way too great to pass up on. This could make for an awesome comic one!
Ltlconf chapter 17 . 12/12/2017
Howdy!

So firearms have happened. A matter of time really, though necessarily a bad thing, really. They're the genuine "equalizers" that nonbenders have long sought. Little training beyond few weeks needed, easy to make, and anyone can use one. Benders still have a lot of advantages (especially fire and earth benders) in a close-in fight (and most are) but it'll no longer be insurmountable and nonbenders will no longer have to depend on the goodwill of benders to keep their rights...they can take and/or keep them if need be.
Nonetheless, things will be MESSY as things always are when a new revolutionary technology intrudes suddenly. Such things always are...

Fun seeing Mako showing Bolin the ropes of being a cop. Also interesting seeing Bolin becoming a cop as he really doesn't need to (he does have a potentially lucrative career in movers) as I love seeing him indulge his crusader nature. He SOOO wants to be the hero, and for all the right reasons! Also, seeing Mako showing off his brains as an investigator and leader in such endeavors is a blast, as so many see him as more than a little blind about people. He really wasn't, he was simply blind to his OWN faults and issues. When it came to crime and criminal behavior, he came across as rather astute, and I love you showing this.
Also kudos on showing refugee living. Rebuilding after such a disaster, even when you do have a highly competent and active leadership and bottomless logistics and resources is long, complex as all get out, and slow (especially if you want it done well) and human error in execution unavoidable. In the meantime the refugees, understandably, are going to be less and patient and a understanding about this no matter how you explain it to them...repeatedly. They're living in tents, with most of their material lives gone, exposed to all sorts of discomfort (boring food, lack of privacy, and of course no one likes camping out in the elements when its not their choice), and simply want their lives back. Then add in the inevitable vultures that move in to take advantage...
It's human to be grouchy and impatient in such circumstances...and refugees naturally want something done NOW. You capture that well, showing how everyone wants to get things back to normal, and how it's just not going to happen soon enough to anyone's satisfaction. The President is a douche, but even if he was a perfect leader, he really couldn't improve things materially all that much. Though morale-wise, he should be doing a LOT more, that's for sure! Having Mako, Bolin, and your excellent OC being the ground level eyes on this is so fascinating. Maybe have more of the other side (the folks in charge of the rebuilding) seen through the eyes of Asami and Varrik. You're touching on it some, but more would be cool. It's SOOO frustrating trying to do it right and yet having EVERYONE pushing you to get it done NOW...yet you know that if you rush it, then they'll be crawling all over you in ten years or less for doing a crappy job as things begin to fall apart! Yeah, know perfect answer here...just questionable compromises. Asami and even a few OCs (engineers, architects, city planners, industrialists, etc) who are simply trying to do the best job they can struggling with this. True some will be opportunists, but most know that they're names will be associated with this forever, and thus try and do the best they can. Which leads to so much conflict!

I don't think of Azula as evil (one thing the "Legend of Korea" definitely showed is that few people are genuinely evil, and even the bad guys can have a valid point, even if their methods are deeply flawed; certainly the Equalists and Kuvira had VERY solid points!). Rather, I see Azula as being severely messed up thanks to dear old dad's systematic (emotional, physical, and mental) abuse in order to make the poor girl into his perfect weapon.
Plus her job here seems to be one of testing and guiding Kuvira through her redemption. And this IS Azula after all: She's going to do so by pushing Kuvira's buttons in her own truly unique way, it's how Azusa works. Good or "evil" she's going do her job with a lot of snark, reverse psychology, sarcasm, cynicism, and innuendo.
Just spitballing though, so I could easily be WAAAY off! But I hope I'm not too far off as it would fit the theme of TLoK (being one of the world have shades of grey between the black and white and many "villains" being victims too in their own way). Plus, due to my own past I always felt more than a little sympathy and sadness over Azula's story, background, and eventual fate. She deserved a better fate, in my opinion.

The Cracker!

OTrizy chapter 10 . 1/28/2017
I am not usually the one who critizes about grammar or typos but if it confuses me then l usually input something. So Kai as in Jinora's love interest was typed wrong and l thought that Kia person was a female and their distant friend or oc that you made. But at the end of the chapter l guessed it, it means that l could be slow at realizing who is who or that some others will also confuse Kai and Kia. l love Korrasami interactions and l greatly dislike Raiko, why was he even elected as the president in cannon?
SwiggitieSwootie chapter 13 . 1/18/2017
Finally got around to catching up with these latest two chapters and I'm glad I did. It always makes me smile when Korra and Asami are doing all this fluffy stuff and being awkward and cute.

I also like the insight into the main antagonist's point of view and Kuvira's. Is the person joining Kuvira Azula?

Can't wait for more

Guest chapter 12 . 1/9/2017
I just found this fic two days ago and I am so glad that I did! Most of the korrasami or post battle fics are engaging but dont usually feel natural to the characters or are too fluff oriented (no offense to those who do, i love me some fluff but the characters and plot are why I fell for this show). Your depiction seems more accurate to the show and the nature of the characters. Their words and actions don't seem so forced and the dynamics feel like they flow from right after where the show leaves off rather than rebuilding them. The relationship between Korra and Asami feels less forced and more natural, including more of the awkward exchanges that you might expect. The other characters reactions also feel natural and like they would actually respond that way. Kuvira's actions and words feel very Bryke like, and I love that. Korras sense of obligation is often neglected in other fics, but it always seemed to me that after the demolition of the city it would just grow stronger, even if she was exhausted. And she would totally spend all night healing people! Almost every other fic has her pegged as a non-healer type, and it just doesnt seem right given her involvement with Katara. I really look forward to seeing how your story continues to develop, thank you for sharing! Can't wait to read the next chapter!
Guest chapter 5 . 1/8/2017
Great story. The evolution of Korra and Asami's relationship is believable and rather sweet. I am also enjoying getting to know more about Kuriva's history.
