I loved your explanations of need vs want. Being needed means that the other person can't make it without you...

Don't worry about it. You did a marvelous job of explaining the difference between need and want. I would have loved for the story to have been longer. Sherlock's family seem so interesting. Also, the ending seemed a bit abrupt. Nevertheless, I enjoyed your story very much. I especially loved how sweet Sherlock was when he was explaining exactly what he meant when he used the word "need."

As for the want vs need argument, I believe you delivered. Today, too many people (the shallow and materialistic ones) believe that Want and Need are one in the same. When the truth is that they are two separate entities, as you very well know. Like how you Need food to survive, but what you choose to eat is the Want. Or, I Need new clothes, but what you choose to purchase depending upon your style is your Want.
