I was drawn in from the first sentence. Your use of the "run for the hills" expression takes us back to such a bittersweet memory from Thunderstruck. In that moment Miles was so vulnerable with Tristan. It was probably the first time he had shared that truth with anyone openly and it helped lead to the official creation of the ship we all came to know and love. Now of course, he feels as though he's just completed the same vicious circle he's always been on. He gets the object of his affection and screws it up and they bitterly leave him without so much as a trace of sympathy.

Love that you brought back the chem teacher's use of goofy jokes.

It's nice to see that although Tristan isn't happy with Miles, he's not completely ignoring him. It would be so simple to offer the silent treatment and sit back and let Miles do all the work. He did acknowledge his hello (albeit barely) and he's helping him with the assignment. It's that that sort of leads me to think Tristan wants to make Miles suffer. He's pulling the whole "eat your heart out" routine... trying to show him what he no longer has and make him wish he still did.

Miles ogling Tristan's butt was just too funny. The whole "drop something" act never seems to fail. You covered the progression of Miles' thoughts very nicely along with Tristan's actions. They started so innocent and by the time Tristan was basically stroking off the test tube it made perfect sense that Miles would be going stir crazy from the sexual tension - especially seeing how one-sided it must seem to him with Tristan acting so nonchalant over everything.

That ending is perfect. Just perfect. I could physically feel the realization put a weight in my gut as I read the last line. Miles is so far from being over him and obviously has a lot of internal struggles to deal with as their story continues. Fantastic work, as always!

What an great story! I feel like that's exactly how Miles will feel when he's back in Chem class with Tris. It'll be torture. I hate that they're broken up on the show, but I have to admit I love reading the post breakup fics their split inspired :)

Well I just went through the most boring lecture(although the info was quite exhilarating) and I was trying to find a way to wake myself up again. Thus surely did it, brought a grin to my face, I think the passing students might be thinking I am reading something suggestive, not that I mind since I probably won't see them again. Anyway I am in love with this story. Very descriptive, where I could easily imagine this scenario playing out. Tristan sounds mega seductive, I wonder whether he was cautiously doing it for revenge. Or maybe a subconscious desire to show him what he's missing out on. Whatever it is, Ilove it and it's going straight to my bookmarks. I give you a pat on the back for making this and ill give myself two pats on the back for encouraging it :p

This was the only one I hadn't read yet and on first impressions I was so excited to see your take on how these two would cope with the interaction of having to be lab partners after such a raw break up.

I nearly died laughing at Tris playing the old classic 'I've dropped something routine'. Seeing Miles's reactions to all the teasing was so fun to read and described very well.
Woah *fans self* there was definitely some heavy suggestion going on here that I wish you had the confidence to delve slightly further into. I seriously want to read about the club fantasy, there was this undercurrent of heat that came across really well as Miles let his imagination run away with him.

I LOVE SCIENCE JOKES - and I love that Tris is geeky enough to want to laugh.

Miles just sounds so thirsty here ahahaa. I adore that, if we ever actually saw him on our screens like that I think my heart would explode. I personally feel like Tris knows exactly what he is doing here and is enjoying the effect he is having on Miles. I appreciate that he has the confidence to believe that his actions bother Miles despite the break up.

All of these light touches and energy exchanges are full of heat and promise so much more. It's torture for Miles - but it's a sweet torture. Just like it was for me when this ended!

This was great! And really funny too. I think Tristan was doing it on purpose. But then again when you're really into a person sometimes every little thing they do comes accross as a turn on/torture in Miles' case. Lol. I really hope that we get some sufficiently awkward encounters between these two in 14b. Thank so much for continuing to write and share. As usual I really enjoyed reading your work.

I don't know why, but these post-breakup fics have been my favorite lately. The tension is so... yes. I don't know how to describe it.
