Ugh. The feels. This story was one of my favorites. When I read the note at the beginning, I was a little worried that Ms. Beck would be killed off and we'd have to deal with Rusty's guilt. I'm so glad you had her leave on her own. Her and her drugs and alcohol deserve each other and to stay gone. I love the way Rusty reacted by fully embracing Sharon as his mother even more than he already did. This was beautiful.

Wow, that's such a hard thing for a kid to handle, even when they're used to it happening before. Fortunately Sharon R is much more reliable than Sharon B in his life.

I love this so much! Sharon's last line was absolutely PERFECT, and I feel like you captured both characters so well. Also, if you take prompts, would you consider writing about the times various Raydors have had to take care of Rusty? Either through sickness, injury, or just a good ole fashioned bad day. Jack could be included, maybe, and obviously Sharon, but I'd really love to see Rusty bonding with his new brother and sister. If you don't want to, that's fine, and if you do, thank you!
