Oh... while I don't really read LOTR fics despite having seen the trilogy (The Hobbit not so much, it was just... too long), I enjoyed this very much!

I liked the short scenes written from the father's POV. It was sweet. Not sappily so, but genuine and it made me smile from beginning to end.

I too am guilty of happily ever after stories where the loving couple get their parents/guardians' approval so this struck a chord with me. I'm sure your Legolas and Gimli will be happy forever more.
