Please continue writing for this fanfic. It's extremely interesting and my time reading about a the individual who was summoned completely refusing to be a familar.

F**king Finally! Do you realise just how FEW stories there are where the summoned sucker actually says "F*ck it, not interested, I'mma outta here!'? Not bloody many. Well, ones that take it seriously anyway. And even fewer call Zero out on her bull crap either. Possibly the most hated anime figure of all time. Please continue this if you can, it has a lot of promise it's really well written. Having Harry actually struggle at the start to become self sufficient, rather than being MOD or having a trunk full of goodies, will definitely be an interesting read.

ok, first. double- no, triple check your story before uploading so things like the italicized font don't happen, improve grammar, make things seem less run on, and perhaps improve the pacing a bit. Oh, and the standard for author's notes is bold text.

I'd like to see this continue. Almost 99% of Familiar of Zero crossovers somehow ends up with summoned person ending up as a familiar of Louise. Either they are injured or dying when summoned or simply decides to become a familiar despite being in good health. The last part is incredibly stupid considering they are literally giving up their freedom to become a glorified slave. I'm amazed there haven't been stories where a summoned person refuses to become a familiar like yours. I give 10 out of 10 for sheer originality.

I'd like to see you play around with this FoZ fic in your spare time tbh xD would be an interesting alternate to your other story :P

Wish he'd grab his things though,before he was summoned.. at least he would have something/s with him..

JKR has acknowledged her problems with anything involving numbers (economics, dates, etc). Fanon typically places the value of 1 galleon at 25 or 50 pounds, not 5.

Some ZnT canon information to help you with your coinage considerations:

3 (old gold) ecu 2 "new gold" ecu

1 (old gold) ecu 120 (silver) sou
(This suggests that 1 (new gold) ecu 80 sou.)

There are no "new silver" or "copper" coins in Zero no Tsukaima.

The names of the coins are from coins used in France a few hundred years ago, the main difference being the lack of a gold [url" wiki/Livre_tournois"]Livre[/url] (worth 20 sou).

It is possible (although merely fanon) that the new gold coin - probably bearing the portrait or coat of arms of Henrietta - has replaced that of one with the portrait or coat of arms of her deceased father. Similarly, the new ecu are not noted as being different in size, so they may be worth less due to having less gold (possibly replacing some of the gold with silver and/or copper).

Finally, per canon, a commoner (probably meaning an artisan or peddler rather than a farmer) typically makes about 100 - 120 gold a year, which works out to about 300 sou a week, or 35 - 40 sou a day (450 denier a day). (Very) Minor nobles (knights with only a few acres of land) have an annuity of 500 ecu, while 140,000 ecu could buy "3 - maybe 4 - small castles." Staying a night at a hotel costs half an ecu (so about 40 or 60 sou).

To bad Harry is not post-6th-year. Then he would not only know some minor protection wards, but also the spells for "growing" food that allows wizards with a few basics (bread, soup, etc) to basically live off such indefinitely.

As is, unless he has his cloak with him, he is going to find life rather difficult. Recall that ZnT is supposed to be north-west Europe during the 30-years war of the early-mid 1600s, albeit with magic.

Harry can claim to have a title, but politics may eventually come to bite him. If he claims he is of a major house - either in history or in wealth - people will eventually either wonder why they have not heard of it. They will also expect him to know the intricacies of the higher noble culture. His best bet is perhaps to pretend to be a minor noble (thus of a House that would not be well known outside of Albion) who left Albion due to the civil war.

But if that is the case, then he should presently be landless and therefore at best merely a Petty Noble. Petty nobles are (typically) of the same level as artisans, guild members, merchants, and so forth - ie, just slightly above wealthier commoners, their main advantage being the benefit the law grants them compared to commoners - both in terms of legal issues and economic issues.

Ooh, I think I like this one better than the other. Just liked the tone... and the fact that your Harry did something the original never figured out, just because your nice doesn't mean that you have to let others walk all over you.

I am curious as to what's going to happen in the story now, I've never read one of these where the familiar contract was successfully refused. In all the others where the person refused they just held them down and forced it, so at least the teachers in this fic seem to be hesitant about actually branding someone against their will.

Interesting story! I love the idea of a Harry Potter/Familiar of Zero crossover, but there are so few out there. This one looks promising, so I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.
