Guest chapter 17 . 3/28/2019
This is so good. Is there a sequel? There should be a sequel. Going to go look for a sequel...

I think you did a really good job capturing the ~heart~ of these characters. The fight scenes were really well described. Very enjoyable read!

hengrimm chapter 13 . 1/7/2018
This is one of my favorite chapters in any story, for so many reasons: between Castiel being hurt and the boys trying to comfort him and Gabriel's commentary and gradual admission to his culpability in what happened to Cas and all the brotherly feels - it's just all around awesome. And I love the somber mood, even given it's told entirely in Gabe's POV. And the humor throughout is awesome, epecially in such grave circumstances. The dialogue and, as usual, your characterization are phenomenal. The setting and description are fantastic. Of course, these apply to the whole story.

Something else I probably should've told you a long time ago is that it was this story that really made me like Gabriel and see the potential in him to have a brotherly relationship with little bro Castiel. Remember - before this, my only exposure to the Trickster was canon's "Changing Channels." After this, I devoured LadyWallace's and 29Pieces's Gabriel/Castiel stories just for the brotherly feels; then trying other authors as well. But this was the start of it all and how I became such a big fan of Gabriel, especially in big brother mode to Castiel. So thank you for that as well!

And I can't resist; here are some of my favorite parts:
1) "No, he needed to save his energies and replenish his grace in order to heal Castiel;"
2) "Gabriel glared at the flint with the wrath of an archangel. Smiting it would start a fire;" (I couldn't help it - as soon as I read this I thought of Cas *smiting* a can of Beanie Weanies in 29P's "Where They Don't Belong!")
3) "'(Cas) can't die, Sam,' Dean said quietly";
4) "Gabriel wouldn't have heard them if he wasn't an angel with the supernatural ability to eavesdrop;"
5) "'Yeah ... a Winchester through and through;'"
6) "But how in the world had Castiel ended up in that fold? There was no mistaking that sharp, possessive expression on Dean's face when he'd insisted they weren't leaving without 'Cas.' And then how Dean kept sticking up for the little angel, *defending* him. And now Sammy wanted to keep him close?"
7) "'Yeah, well, he can take his self-righteous intentions and shove them up his ass. Cas is one of us now. *We* take care of him.'"
8) "Dean still had one hand resting on Castiel's chest, the other pressed to the pulse point in the angel's throat. Sam sat next to them, his hand having made its way into's Castiel's and squeezing tightly, as though the both of them were trying to anchor the fallen angel;"
9) "He hoped little bro's stubbornness kept him hanging in there. Because there was no way he was gonna let those two doofuses do a better job than him of taking care of *his* brother;"
10) "Not this time though, because Gabriel's best hadn't been nearly good enough and his brother was still suffering. This wasn't a game anymore;"
11) "Dean's eyes flared with fiery fury. 'That's not what Cas is to us,' he ground out around a voice tight with brimming emotion. 'He's family, you son-of-a-bitch, so just do it!'"
12) "There had probably been only three instances in all his millennia that Gabriel the archangel was rendered speechless, and that it had been one measly human to do it this time seemed equally earth shattering. *Family.*"
13) "Well color him pink; Castiel - *Cas* - was important enough to Dean for him to submit to this, and important enough to Sam for him to let his older brother do it."

I may have gone overboard in sharing my faovirte parts, but it's all your fault anyway, for making me like this chapter so much! XD
hengrimm chapter 9 . 1/6/2018
Another great chapter, mostly because Castiel finally made an appearance! *g* Also Cas!whump.

One of my favorite lines of all time: "But Sam didn't know how to summon a pagan goddess of violence, nor did she seem the quintessential example of reason considering she'd gone to all this trouble over some lover's spat." *quintessential example of reason* ... frigging awesome! I also love all the feels, the brotherly bonding/affection between Sam and Castiel.

I also don't think I ever thanked you for making me like Sam so thanks!

this is literally amazing - I love how you used the characters way of speaking, doing things and made sure to include the tiny things about their personalities most people wouldn't even notice. Overall I give it a 10/10

Great story! Nice to see Gabriel being brotherly to Castiel, not to mention Dean and Sam also being brotherly to Cas.
