Oooh very nice. Second-person Elsie narrative and a dream that actually got her there?! Lovely. And it's pretty great that she has no guilt over it, in the end. I'm glad for her.

This is so very good. I'm not sure that I have words to adequately express how much I like it. The backstory woth Charles and his trust issues is marvellously detailed here and tells us so much. That Elsie is honest to a fault. This is so them. Just wonderful.

Beyond the obvious attention to detail, this a wonderful structure in which we see the beginnings of how she proves herself as the capable person she is despite his misgivings. We see how she handles things - not with guilt or an 'I told you so,' but with cold, hard facts imparted without recrimination. She earns his trust, obviously, and I would love to read what happens on the following day.
