Guest chapter 29 . 1/5/2016 Hi. I just read your story and I enjoyed very much. I hope you update soon. |
Alice's White Rabbit chapter 29 . 1/6/2016 Good to have you back, Mike! Hope your holidays were good. It's always so uplifting when a character finally sees there is hope in their existence. There are so many more possibilities. Thanks! Sally |
Goldielover chapter 29 . 1/4/2016 Nice to see this one being continued again. Will be looking forward to further updates. I suspect he'll be moving on out of the mountains before too long now that he has come to some realizations about himself. |
Alice's White Rabbit chapter 28 . 9/15/2015 Victor was a wise man. He set Carlisle back on course. Thanks! Sally |
Goldielover chapter 28 . 9/15/2015 Thanks for the update. Interesting to do a bit from the point of view of Carlisle's prey. Looking like he won't be in the mountains too much longer. While he has obviously learned quite a bit about himself during this time, it will be nice to see him move along with his life. |
Alice's White Rabbit chapter 27 . 9/8/2015 Looks like it was a really good thing that Carlisle connected with Victor-reminded him of the goal he had set for himself: learn more about medicine. Thanks! Sally |
Goldielover chapter 27 . 9/8/2015 Welcome back. I look forward to reading more of this one as you post it. Glad Carlisle at least has some company now, even if it is not of his own kind. |
Goldielover chapter 26 . 7/30/2015 This is fully understandable. I am badly behind on my lengthier reviews as well. I spend far less time on the computer in the summer, wanting to take advantage of our all too short summers. Look forward to reading more in September. |
Alice's White Rabbit chapter 25 . 7/17/2015 Sorry, I haven't been able to review the last few chapters-been moving. I'm so happy Carlisle has found some companionship, even if it is a shape-shifter. Interesting, it was him who convinced Carlisle he had retained his humanity. He's on the right path. Thanks! Sally |
Goldielover chapter 24 . 7/7/2015 As I said earlier - no problem. Things happen, especially in the summer months. Will look forward to update when available. |
THOSE stories chapter 23 . 6/25/2015 Perfect, as always! :) |
Goldielover chapter 23 . 6/17/2015 No problem. That happens in the summer. Will be looking forward to the next chapter when it is ready. Two others I've been following have updated in the last twenty four hours after a gap of almost a month, so I've had my treats for today. |
Goldielover chapter 22 . 6/13/2015 You've probably been wondering where my usual spiel is. Truth is, I really couldn't find too much in the way of historical inaccuracies in this chapter. (Wonder how carefully you went through that chapter to make sure I wouldn't.!) Blood transfusions were of course banned in both England and France in 1668, and condemned by the Catholic church in 1670, but I wouldn't mind betting a lot went on under the radar. In any event, there certainly would have been older records of experiments done prior to the ban, as there were quite a few of them, and it is quite conceivable that the previous owner of the wagon would have had copies. And yes, there were a number of publications from the 1640s onwards with regards to the discoveries made with early microscopes. Glad to see you didn't put an actual microscope into the wagon, though. That might have been pushing it just a bit to have such a high tech (for it's time) piece of equipment in a gypsy wagon. Was interested in the shape shifter legend. It always made sense that there were more than just the Quileute wolves. It will definitely make it easier for Carlisle in the future when he runs into Ephraim Black and his pack, as he will already have a good idea as to what they are. I've seen other fanfics that make mention of other groups of shifters, but I think yours is the first I've seen that has Carlisle aware of what they are from quite early on. Anyways, thanks for the update, and look forward to more when you have it ready. |
Alice's White Rabbit chapter 22 . 6/10/2015 I'm not sure why this hit my more in this chapter than others, but I was thinking about how many years Carlisle was alone. It makes me so sad for him that in this story he mourns so for Lisbet, and it will be centuries before he finds Esme. I just can't comprehend the loneliness. Thanks, Mike! Sally |
Alice's White Rabbit chapter 21 . 6/5/2015 I wonder how long it will take for Carlisle to forgive himself for not being able to save Lisbet? He just keeps torturing himself. Thanks! Sally |
