I love prequels - I have written them for 'Burton's Shadows,' as I sometimes call his movie version of Dark Shadows.
And I love this prequel to 'The Thin Man' !

Great story of their meeting and falling in love. Love those two

I really enjoyed seeing how Nick analyzes people. He's a detective for a reason and it's nice to see those sharp instincts on display. Working Clyde Wyman (is it Wyman or Wynant?) into the story was a clever touch. It was a great way of weaving Nick and Nora's courtship into the first movie. Bravo.

I really, really enjoyed the proposal. :-) It was pure Nick. And I'm happy Joe took an almost instant liking to his future son-in-law. Double bravo!

Nora may have her mother's spitfire spirit, but she inherited her sense of fun and adventure from her father. That makes two sloshed Randalls that Nick's brought home. :-) This could easily be a scene from the movies.

"Nick had picked one of the classier dumps he knew..."—Love the phrasing. Too funny!

Nick and Nora playing Sherlock and Watson was fantastic. I get the inkling Mr. Randall likes Nick. I hope that is further incentive for Nicky making Watson his official Mrs. Charles.

I am re-reading this from the beginning and kicking myself for falling behind. I am so happy to find a handful of new chapters posted! Oh, and I see you managed to get a "Thin Man" category. Awesome.
