Boo... kinda sucks that you're ghosting cannon. It seems odd that Ken would just stand there and watch Ryouku get her head cut off especially because of how his mother died in almost the same way.

Interesting premise, but some inconsistencies. (I hope u don’t mind me pointing them out.)
Kaneki’s reason for acting against his mother’s wishes doesn’t really make sense? It is shown that he cherishes both his father and mother’s memories, but still tarnished their wish of ghoul and human living together peacefully.
And I understand that you’re setting up Kaneki as a (over)confident SSS- (at least) ranked ghoul, but in one paragraph he noted to be cautious since Anteiku consists of “several S-ranked, SS-ranked and evening SSS ranked ghouls”, and then he immediately switches mindset and thinks that they are “docile” and are “weaklings, not even worth a thought.”
I’m sorry for the criticism, and this fic is pretty much abandoned(?) years ago, but I just want to point that out if you ever come back to this.
Other than those two points, this chapter is very well written, the descriptions are well done and flows nicely.

I had been wondering if your Ken's birth was a plot hole, since as explained here a female ghoul should not be able to bear a hybrid child according to Yoshimura. Seems that was intentional though. Looking forward to seeing how that unfolds.
