this was a great tribute. edward herrmann's death is really affecting me so much, because he (and his character on the show) both always reminded me so much of my own grandfather, who is still alive, but also getting older. this was a beautiful story. rest in peace edward herrmann, your legacy on this show, and in the world will never be forgotten 3

This was beautiful! I didn't hear the news until today and I was so sad about it. He was an amazing Actor and will be missed. And this was a wonderful story to show tribute to his character from Gilmore Girls. :)

Aw, this is so lovely. I love the way you mixed the sadness with some typical GG humor - which is the way it normally is in RL, too. I loved the part at the end, where Rory talked about her regret that her grandpa wouldn't be around to see who she married, and they speculated that the 'bad' boyfriends would be struck down by lightning! Everything that you've included here just fits so well. Lorelai's comment that she expected her father to come strolling out of his study, and for Emily to chastise him for being late to the party brought a tear to my eye. (Also, I loved the idea of Lorelai finally having a daughter named Susanna! I hope this one has some musical ability...)

RIP E. Hermann. His FDR was amazing, but his Richard Gilmore is what will always stick in my memory-the perfect blend of aristocrat and teddy bear. Good piece.

This is incredibly beautiful. All of it played out in my mind as if it were on my screen, perfectly in character, and so absolutely appropriate to the day. I think a lot of us are grieving Richard Gilmore right now...and this is a healing. Thank you. 3
