This is so damn fantastic. You have written Daryl so well.

This was really lovely. I liked the style of it - sort of ar mix between Daryl's stream of consciousness and a more usual narrative. There were moments that were perfectly jarring (like Maggie) that worked really well for me.

Daryl telling her so bluntly and almost (but not really at all) out of the blue not to lie about leaving was another great bit.

The line about death and leaving having the same end result really made me think for a whole bunch of reasons not remotely related to this fic.

In short, I really liked this. Thanks for sharing it!

This is beautiful.

Like how you show Daryl is still pretty rough & raw in his own head, even though he's learned to temper what he says. The Carol-Daryl interactions were very good, felt true to where they are. The part where Daryl thinks he should just because he doesn't know what else to do to fix things seemed exactly right for his character.
