I just found this story on a rec site. When I started reading I was a bit skeptical, how was the author going to keep a story going for 230,000 words about how mundanely sick the Winchesters were...

And then I had to finish it in a 2-day span!

Something I really loved was that you laid them low with a non-supernatural illness and you realistically portrayed what that does to a person. And yes, they kept going because they are the Winchesters, but they needed help and didn't superhumanly overcome their physical limitations. It was real. And your writing of how it felt to be that sick...well, I hope it wasn't from personal experience...because you nailed it.

I loved the Penders and really worried about them, and really appreciated how they came to care about Sam and Dean. And I hope that the boys visited them at least once more, years later...

It was an intriguing case, and the way you wrote Raquel, I cared about her too.

I reached the halfway point and the monsters were vanquished, and I couldn't imagine how there were so many chapters left...and you came through with an emotionally note-perfect story about Sam and Dean's state of mind at this point in canon. You really zeroed in on how hard it is for Dean to see Sam's grief, to struggle with his instinct to be tough and snarky while knowing he's not giving Sam what he needs. And Sam's mental and emotional state was completely in character.

This is an exceptionally well-written story, both in the style and in your capture of Sam and Dean in those first months back together. I am thrilled to see you have lots more stories for me to read, it's like Christmas to find a new great author after being in fandom so long!

Awww. I adored this story. I ended up caring so much about Arla and Tommy that I worried about them getting hurt as much as I worried about Sam and Dean. I even got caught up in the mystery of what was going on with the town and Alexander and Gethen and the Brodys and Raquel. I usually kind of tune out that stuff in fan fiction and zero in on the hurt/comfort. But no, you had me worried and creeped out like I was watching an episode of the show.

Thank you for the great writing, great story-telling and excellent feels. I'm going to check out your profile to see what else you've written. Take care! Oh, and I SO wanted Sam and Dean to keep in touch with Arla and Tommy. Though, people they care about usually end up very, very dead. So, I see why they choose not to. But it would have been nice for them to have "grandparents" that text to say: Did you eat? Since they don't have anyone else to do that for them.

If it didn't have sam hurt or sick would of been great, sorry but seems every fanfic on this site is sam sam sam so its boring and predictable now, so disappointed in the so called supernatural fandom more like sam fandom.

Such a great tale! I love the Penders, and whatever supernatural badness is going on, it's intriguing! You've got spirits, monsters, and a big boss monster- can't wait to see how it all fits together.
