Your characterization of Izzy and the rest of the gang, especially Sora, is excellent. "Just like the rest of us" is such a powerful-albeit negative-saying and I love how you write about that striking some sort of chord with Izzy. The fic ends with ambiguity and that leads so many possibilities open to the imagination of the reader; really, great job!

Oh man I can't tell you how thrilled I am to learn that the other one-shot was just a companion piece to this masterpiece. It's SOOOO good! I can't express how it makes me feel - just...they went through so much crap, and reading about Taichi being bullied so badly hurt. Matt and his dead are a godsend. And then that ending where Taichi's dad swallowed his pride and made amends a month before his death...this is a beautiful, beautiful piece and I am so glad that you shared this with the world.

I really love this story! The ending was great, though I do wish it had gone on a little longer, as two more years and Eiri would have been out of jail, bet that would have been an interesting plot device. Speaking of which, I was hoping there would be a bit more on Izzy's recovery, but like I said, I am quiet satisfied with the work you have completed! Good job and I hope you continue to write such great stories!

A bittersweet ending. I really like how well put and thought out it was. And I mean the whole story though. I like how you cleaned up a few loose ends and made TK not so much of a dick. hehe

What can I say? It's not really what the title advertises, and it can be damn depressing, but you've written something so terribly engrossing and raw and entertaining here - so, hats off to you. At first I found the jumps in timeline jarring, but I can't see any other way to do it when you want to cover the standout moments of a lifetime in just one story. It came full circle well enough, once I got used to the format. Izzy is right on the mark, and I seriously adore the way you write Tai. Keep that up, because it's awesome. :) I'm intrigued by your version of events for the rest of the children as well. While it's difficult for me to imagine any of these children dispensing quite so much hatred (Why did he even show up at all?), I have to say that your angle on TK is something I haven't considered before, but it makes so much sense. Mimi got the colors perfectly right. I'm loving Kari's friendship and support as well - She really seems in her element. :)
