Yes Athos does love d'Artagnan and thinks of him as a son :) It's canon, straight from the novel. When I read "The Three Musketeers" as a little girl, Athos and d'Artagnan's relationship stayed with me most. That's the point though as the story does revolve around those two. So I love any author that captures the spirit of the book and emphasizes Athos' fondness and protectiveness of d'Artagnan, and d'Artagnan's admiration and care about the well being of Athos. You did that beautifully here. I loved it. I hope you post more stories!
