This was a nice fic. I agree that Popuri probably does have daddy issues which turned into liking men who left.

I hadn't quite expected this result when I challenged you to this pairing, but I think I like this outcome more. I prefer introspective stories, that explore the mindset of the character, so what you did with Popuri is much appreciated. Her ennui is a fascinating case, given her usual sunny disposition, though the latter may just be a front for the way she copes with things. That may be a little too in-line with your Karen interpretation, but I think that side of Popuri being a facade is interesting. Maybe that's why her and Karen work as friends, as well. Anyway, I am once again blown away by your mastery of dialogue in this piece. Each conversation serves to reflect the process of her journey, and you can see how the words might turn over in her mind. You don't go for flowery language in the dialogue, and that helps in making it all the more natural. Granted, the dialogue isn't the main focus of this, but I couldn't help but be taken with the conversation with Karen. Honestly, I almost want to see a sequel to this, just to see what becomes of Popuri after all...curse fanfics with interesting premises but beautifully open endings. xD

I like Denny and Popuri pairing! You told a big story in just a short amount if time, great job in that! Looking forward to more one shots like this, I very much enjoyed it :)
