I first started following this story after the first chapter was released. I’ve since visited it multiple times, because it’s one of the believable stories of Ash actually getting stronger and adding legends to his team.
That being said, every time after 2017, I’m left with a sense of disappointment and cringe.
Disappointed because he chose to leave us in limbo just before the final battle.
Cringe because I should have seen this coming. It has happened multiple times in this fandom. The author has more than enough writing chops and gumption to give the story a satisfied end, but didn’t. More so, the overarching plot is more than Ash at Sinnoh, since team Plasma and others have been mentioned in the fic. It means that the author had a larger plot line planned out. But as always, it’s always the good ones that end up leaving me disappointed and vexed.
Still hopeful that he’ll come back and continue the story.

Nooooooooooooooo. When I nearing the top 16, I checked how much chapters were left and assumed I will reach the end of this final match. But when the Ash first used Darkrai I started having doubts huhu I was desperately wishing it wasn't so. I let myself hope with this chapter title thinking the winner will be revealed in a chapter finish. Now, I am that the end of the seat thinking what would the result be and having no answer. Is it safe to assume which is the winner or are you going to be unpredictable with the results? The last update was years ago and I can't help but wish you would come back to this at least for one last conclusion. I am glad though that I took the chance to read this given it was uncompleted and seems abandoned but I'll leave this comment just in case you find inspiration again to write. I can't wait for an update whenever it shall show. Much anticipation.

Between Tobias's edgy haircut and the fact that he inexplicably had a Darkrai and a Latios, that fight was already hard enough to take seriously in canon. Giving Ash his own legendary pokemon to level the playing field was a good idea.

So... you added a Zapdos? And if it hadn't already jumped the shark, a Genesect too? I'm not sure why you didn't just go ahead and let him run out to the pokemon center at the match's halfway point and get his Arceus, Mega Rayquaza and Ho-oh too.
