I still think incorporating game mechanics rather than considering animal country and alternate earth was a mistake that negatively affects the flow of the story. It makes everything clunky and unnecessarily complicated. It also leaves no room for suspension of disbelief, preventing the reader from becoming immersed in the plot. It's also really annoying to be constantly reminded that the world is based on a game, as if they have nothing else to talk about.

I think it would have been better if you'd just stuck to the alternate world plot and had Ethan turning on his game at the time of his teleportation be a red herring.
However, if you kept the video game plot, you could have referenced Digimon by saying that Ethan passed through the Digital World via his Wii and was transported to another Real World, the world of Animal Crossing.

Without a doubt one of the best AC stories, I have ever read. I'm so glad I found this and what an enjoyable read.

Hero: From chapter 1 to now, I've been iffy about this story, this, being the second AC story I've EVER read; the first being M rated... but I did get into it about and really did start to enjoy it, though I will admit again, I Googled the nexus out of AC characters while reading just so I know what I should expect and what they looked like. I had fun reading it and fun watching Ethan go a bit nuts during this adventure. I loved it through and through. Good job, kid. Gj.
