Ah, this is so perfect! I love how you showed Greg and Wirt interacting and the bit about the cold really got to me.

What really stood out to me in this piece was how Wirt and Greg were so in character, especially with the way they talked. I also like how the prose sometimes sounded like Wirt's pooetic ramblings. It was really cool :)

Omg, I really loved this a lot! Especially your mentions of Wirt as a Pilgrim; those sentences were gorgeously crafted works of art! Seriously, I had to create a new note just so I could keep them close and look at them now and then. A job, you're incredible!

I like this so much I'm having trouble grouping my thoughts. But I have to try.

First of all you totally nailed the tone of Over the Garden Wall- not JUST in the characterizations of Greg and Wirt (although those are spot-on in every respect), but in the way you've romanticized and almost personified the icy cold and even the "journey" home from school. I love the references to their adventures you've included- Wirt being the Pilgrim, the old north wind- and the even more subtle details that show the shift in their relationship- Wirt holding Greg's hand to cross the street. You really have a knack for tiny details that pack a lot of emotion, like Greg's fingers not quite meeting around the mug of cocoa.

I love the fact that they are both a little haunted by the cold and the Beast. The lingering chill won't ever be enough to make them regret that adventure, though. This is so sweet. I looked on your tumblr and the song is awesome! The tune totally sounds like something off the series and you did a nice job singing it. :)

This is absolutely fantastic! Everything about it feels in character, and it's a nice cozy story for this particularly chilly December night. Thank you for reminding me of my two favorite pilgrims!
