In the second haunted mask book the old man mask came off of Steve when he and Carly-Beth found his 'body' in one of the boxes in the basement of the mask shop. The thing just hopped off him and onto it's corresponding body/outfit, then it just ran up the stairs like a dork. I've always wondered about that. It was an odd ending to say the least.
