I like the subtlety in this story and its prequel, and the way that you imply what's happened without stating it explicitly. Snape is nicely in character, as is guiltily responsible Harry. I hope there's more in this series.

You need a quick grammar beta to iron out a few kinks, because you're ideas are _excellent_ and deserve it. ;) Birdie the Wannabe is an original, just like her shop. The idea of a store locating somewhere between Diagon and Knockturn is another in a long line of such places, common to fantasy, and is a very nice addition to said line. The connection you made by reffering again to Severus' rudeness as a host was nicely done and rather smooth. Your characteriztion is solid and as I said in my other review, very intriguing. Should you continue the series, I do hope that that you also keep laying these very subtle and melancholy hints of The End througout. The tone is, yes, melancholy and restrained enough that it feels genuine - that they are all suffering from some great grief is readily apparent.

You mentioned Hermione, which begs the question, what has happend to everyone else? I look forward to finding out.
