Just about the time I think I've finally gotten my fill of Bucky-recovery fics, I'll find one like yours and realize... I may never get over my need for good Bucky recovery fics. Really a wonderful one-shot. I like how it's a stream-of-consciousness style story, and all the little details like him putting on layers of clothing and sitting in the sun for hours make it so very poignant without going overboard into maudlin territory. I love how you wove Steve's memory of the "end of the line" post-funeral scene into a returning memory of Bucky's. *happy sigh* Those kinds of ties straight into the movie make my day when I find them in fics.

I read in your bio you're into stucky, and as I'm not into romantic stucky (I'm one of maybe 16 people in this fandom who prefer platonic friendship *sigh*), I'd probably give any sequel a pass if you go that direction (not casting aspersions, mind; it's just not my thing), but this one really hit all the right buttons for me. Thanks for writing!

I absolutely loved it! For your first Captain America story, this is amazing.
How you portrayed Bucky in all of the different scenarios is what I would have liked to have seen in the movies. Their relationship is spot-on as well and the internal conflict Bucky is having is very much what I imagined. Great job :)
