IcyImagination chapter 24 . 2/9/2019 I absolutely loved this story! It was so cute and the build up was perfect. The way Wirt and Beatrice acted, I thought, was very in character. And the way they interacted with one another was as well. You are a very good writer. The only thing that made me sad was that we did not get to see the poem Beatrice wrote for Wirt. I hope you are still writing. |
Jumamoy chapter 24 . 10/15/2018 Its a wonderful fanfic and thats an undersatement. Can't help but wonder if Greg were to meet Henry, the crazy things they would do, how they would drive Wirt and Beatrice mad. |
KingMaverick chapter 24 . 1/26/2018 *watched OTGW instead of Black Mirror in my friend's laptop - instantly loved it, shipped Wirt and Beatrice, adored Greg aaaand kind of wanting to see the reason of the mystery of the Unknown and the Beast* *scanned some fanarts and decided to see the fanfics ('cause I'm sure there was)* *saw your story and fell in love with it to the point that when I was already in chp 22 I stopped because I didn't want to end the story* But here I am, typing a much-deserved review for your fantastic story. Thank you for ALL OF WIRTRICE MOMENTS HERE. My personal favorite was chapter 9 but every single chapter was amazing. I loved how they were always teasing each other, the kisses, the assurance and support, the moment when they were finally honest with their feelings. I liked the video game part where Wirt and Beatrice were sharing the console~ Thanks for staying true to their caharacter but still managed to have a development throughout the duration of the story. Wirt's wimpy, hesistant and awkward self is shown there but seeing him ready to fight for his girl, carrying her as he trudged on the snow (*screams in delight*) and made a way to communicate was laid down perfectly. Oh, and I won't forget this line of his: "I belong with you." (THIS IS JUST SO SO WONDERFULLY PERFECT! Declaring such a bold statement had my heart skipped a beat!). I'm very pleased to see Beatrice in a constant check about what she says so she wouldn't sound so mean and rude. THOUGH SHE IS STILL SASSY! (And who could make this feisty girl blush? Oh, just Wirt.) Oh, and the fact that she could beat up all her brothers was awesome. The Polaroid and tape concept was great and it was very satisfying to see how they communicated back and forth in the first chapters. I love Greg and Henry - who guarded her door when she was crying AND was the greatest diversion a sister could ever have -(and Andrew too - he was just really protective of his sister) and I would have loved to see more of Beatrice's family from her siblings to her aunt and cousin but it was centered on the couple so that's that (though Sara's participation in this was actually quite big - I appreciate how ready and cool she was in offering her help with the lover's problem). I also very very very much appreciate the lenght of each chapter. It wasn't too long or short - it was always just right for me. Sometimes when a chapter is too long, I'd get bored and ends up scanning or abandoning the said story but yours was juuuust right. Loved it. Again, thank you for this~ :-) |
Guest chapter 14 . 6/27/2017 There was a lot of second hand enbarrasment in this chapter, but I really enjoyed it ! |
Escka-Chan chapter 1 . 4/16/2016 (Please translate!) |
starscriptmage chapter 24 . 2/27/2016 This was such a delight to read. I've always shipped Wirt and Sara as friends, but seriously, the Wirtrice in here is amazingly developed. I loved Henry and Beatrice's mom, as well as the ending. Thanks for satisfying me with a wonderful and believable end to this fic. It was definitely worth reading, all 24 chapters of it :D |
ClarkyDee chapter 24 . 2/10/2016 Loved it! :) I finally saw Over the Garden Wall two days ago and, of course, the first thing I did when I finished is jump on to check out some Infinite Eyerolls and I have to say I'm glad I did. This was excellent. :D There's a lot I liked so I'll try to be concise. I like how you kept the characters true to their canonical selves while giving them opportunities to grow. I like that Wirt still can't stand up to Andrew at the end and Beatrice doesn't have her temper under control. They're still the same people we love but in many other ways they've grown since the beginning of the story and that was really cool. They both learned something about themselves and each other and they had solid arcs. I like your ability to build towards a climax. There are a few big moments in the story and they all feel big because they're built up and paced so well. I like the way you handled the different dimensions angle. Beatrice coming over and learning more about the modern world was fun and all the shenanigans with her cover story were funny. I liked how you fleshed out the other characters, especially Sara. I was worried you would put her on a bus and never deal with her or have her be some kind of antagonist but you built on her personality from the show and gave her a life of her own that felt very authentic. Her friendship with Beatrice was nice too. I liked how the character's thoughts and feelings were expressed. Their loneliness was poignant at the start and their elation at being reunited was sweet, as was their growing relationship. There's more but those were a few things that really stuck with me. As for criticisms, and these are more a matter of opinion than anything, I have some suggestions. First, I felt that the conclusion was a little anti-climactic. You had been building up to this big confrontation with Beatrice's family but then her mother just kind of accepted everything without comment. I suppose this was because the story was ready to be concluded and having a huge finale wouldn't have really fit but still... just a thing I noticed. Another point, also very subjective, was the points that you chose to skip ahead or elaborate on. It's a tough balance between pacing and detail and you did an excellent job for most of it. Only there were a few events you kind of glossed over that I would have liked to have seen explored more, like the breakfast with the step-dad or dinner with Beatrice's family. These were probably not done because the audience got the gist of everything from the breakfast cooking scene and from the talk with Beatrice's mother but still. Again, just an opinion. As a last thing, speaking of Beatrice's mom, I like how you build up the mystery about the girl going missing early on and foreshadowed that it was her. The pay off felt organic and I found myself interested in the mysterious element it added to the later chapters. I really, really enjoyed this story. :D I'm going to go check out your other Over the Garden Wall stuff right now, so take that for what it's worth. |
Umbrardor chapter 24 . 2/8/2016 A gorgeous romance between wall-crossed lovers. I loved the pacing and the interactions, and I especially loved the character/relationship development. Wirt's pushover poetic self was the moon and waves needed by Beatrice to become a beautifully smoothed peace of sea glass (i'm probably at a beatrice level of poetry and wordplay). Thank you for the story. I needed something like this for this couple. I ship them hard. |
peptidoglycan chapter 24 . 12/28/2015 Ahhhhh. So fluffy and cute :3 I love your story! |

Leah chapter 24 . 12/17/2015 I found this fanfic when I was looking for a good story about my favorite ship that never really set sail and on the first day of reading I was hooked! It's a decent length but not to long not to short. And I want to make sure you know that You are a BRILLIANT writer! Bringing in things from the show into your fanfic and making somthing you mention in the begining or beforehand forshadow the ending of the story. I also love how you made the story lovey but didn't go TO far with it. Overall it is one of the best fanfics I've EVER read and I am now going to go back to the begining and re-read the story to my younger brother (who is 13 and needs to be introduced to the world of dating and kissing and I think this is a perfect way to do it because he also ships them.) I give this story a 6/5 stars! An all time perfect ending for Wirt and Beatrice! :) 3 |

The One Who Reads Too Much chapter 24 . 12/5/2015 Wirt tried not to laugh at her response. "Is this the maturity of a 17 year old you mentioned?" Wirt asked. "Because I gotta say I can totally see it." I can see it to Wirt. |
The One Who Reads Too Much chapter 22 . 12/5/2015 Huuuuuuge foreshadowing with the "30 years ago redhead over the wall" thing, but what can you do? |
The One Who Reads Too Much chapter 21 . 12/5/2015 Welp, just get that out of the way nice and quick. |
