Screaming Faeries chapter 14 . 7/25/2015
Hey Shane!

I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS THE LAST CHAPTER ARGH

I like this unorthodox change of tune that you’ve gone with for this chapter. It seems almost like a kind of internal monologue that Draco is having, informing all of us of some of the events without fully going into detail. It was great to read that Orion is so fiery and brave as his other family members - as we haven’t really had that much detail on his character, it was nice to see that little snippet.

The confirmation that Leo had been reincarnated was great! It was nice to have a little bit of light in this otherwise dark few chapters. You described Draco’s feelings in regards to this really well, particularly to quote: “bittersweet harmony”.

Oh I knew that Draco was sick! It’s so sad that he’s dead...but it’s something else that you’ve really outlined well. It wasn’t quite as sudden as it would have been, because you’ve dropped hints at his health deterioration throughout the story. It was so sweet that you had Hermione there in the end, and his vision of her as an angel. The last line just did it for me though - it’s just typical that Draco would die of something so typically Muggle!

Well, this chapter was slightly short, so that has left for a shorter review. In reference to the whole of the story, I REALLY enjoyed this, possibly more than The Good Son. I felt like this was much more structured, with the whole idea of the Cultists and the set beginning-middle-end(ish). I’m really looking forward to the next book!

Great job, Shane!

Screaming Faeries chapter 13 . 7/25/2015
Hey Shane!

I adore Lily’s caring nature. She has enough on her plate to be dealing with what with having to look after her own family in the wake of this attack, but she is still thinking about going out to St. Mungos and seeing what she can do to help. It’s a really good insight into her character.

The first segment of this chapter was really wonderful and some great development on Lily. You really showcased just how much of an abstract character she is - her initial anger and “seeing red” at both wondering who would be trying to knock her awake, and then noticing that Remy had been whipped, and her quick thinking actions in this situation, being able to prevent the children from entering, messaging Victoire and maintaining her calm. Great job.

Ah, I was wondering when we would see Harry again. Once again, I really like the description of the spectral Lily, particularly her skin beginning to “thrum with light”.

The scene with Lily and Harry before he reunited the Hallows was lovely. I really enjoyed what you did there, bringing back the scene from the novels where Harry asks Lily to stay with him.

The description of Death was great, but I was really bowled over by huge omnipotence, of many worlds growing and exploding. Great job.

OH GOSH I SEE WHAT’S HAPPENED! HARRY’S GIVEN HIS LIFE SO THAT LEO CAN COME BACK? AM I RIGHT? I HOPE I’M RIGHT!

It was such a wonderful scene! And I’m so glad it was Aurora who was there to witness it.

Bellatrix’s scene and her hubble bubble toil and tubble with the circle was so dark and great. Much more horrific than the original sequence in the graveyard with Voldemort. A particular highlight was the servants diving knives into their stomachs to retrieve flesh.

OH NO AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE OKAY IF ALBUS CAME BACK BUT HE’S GOING TO BE ALL OVER BELLATRIX ISN’T HE

SHANE OH MY GOD WELL DONE THIS WAS A GREAT CHAPTER!

Screaming Faeries chapter 12 . 7/24/2015
Hey Shane!

Ahh a Bellatrix sequence! I’m looking forward to this. The idea of her “feasting” well and “gorging” on the blood is extremely creepy, but those kind of words you’ve used fit her perfectly.

I like the idea of her being slightly envious of Cass, or her description “the porcelain bride”. It’s something I never noticed in The Good Son, but it makes sense for Bellatrix to have perhaps started to feel something more for Albus as she might have done for Tom Riddle, as she seems to have such a high desire to want to serve them so faithfully.

It’s so sad to see just how bad Katherine has been mentally affected by those Cultists, to the point that she struggles to touch her own children. You’ve done a great job at portraying these classic and painful PTSD symptoms.

Fran is such a great character. I’m glad there’s more development on her, too. I initially didn’t really like her character in the Good Son, I think just because I was kind of anti-James at that point too, but it’s great to see just how caring and determined she is to keep her patients safe.

I was wondering when Aurora was going to notice Albus’ shadow, and want to interact with him too. It seems fitting that this would be the time of all times for Cass to begin to doubt keeping Albus chained to her too, so it’s appropriate.

Draco’s pulls and pains...I’m suspecting something to be seriously wrong with him. If it is, you’re really effectively progressing this problem, so that the reader won’t just be landed with it at some random point of the novel, which is a great technique.

Your descriptions of the shadows never cease to amaze me. The imagery of Albus whipping through the air so ferociously was wonderfully described, and I felt quite glad to see that he’s finally regaining some energy.

The start of the prospective execution is quite creepy. One thing I’ve noticed is that you started off in present tense - I don’t know if it’s deliberate, but when you immediately go onto past tense it’s a bit jarring.

Oh God, you always have such a dramatic way to save everyone! I really like Demi’s character and I don’t want her to have to kill herself to save everyone! Needless, it is a really clever adaption you’ve come up with.

Argh, it was a really sad yet poetic description of her final moment! Well done!

AND THEN GUARDIAN LEO COMES IN AT THE END!

This was a great chapter. Great job!

Just another mention - sometimes you capitalise Cultist and then other times you don’t.
Screaming Faeries chapter 11 . 7/24/2015
Hey Shane! Sorry for slacking yet again.

I’m soo happy another wedding is on the cards! It reminds me a lot of Cassie’s wedding...*weeps at that beautiful chapter*

I’m really glad that you’ve referenced Remy as being ‘held captive’ - it holds a bit more hope for him. After that dramatic ending last chapter, I was half expected him to have just walked into his death...touch wood that hasn’t actually happened!

Victoire assaulting Hugo...that is quite typical of the character I imagine of her, also from what we’ve witnessed she’s an extremely protective mother! I hope we get to see some more of hers and Teddy’s side of things while Remy isn’t around.

It’s good that you added a little more detail to Lily almost laughing at Victoire’s situation...it’s another realistic kind of thing that people often do, before realising the severity.

YES THOSE BEAUTIFUL MALFOY JEWELS ARE BACK! I half expected them to just melt into Cassiopiea after she seemed so perfect in them! I think it’s SO in character for Lily to have no desire for the fancy jewels - it reminds me a lot of how Ginny might be in that situation.

“sadly, men were useless at wedding planning” - I have watched enough ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’ to completely agree with this statement.

I’m interested in the notion of Dominique alienating herself from the wizarding world. Is there a reason for this? I hope this will be elaborated on.

I feel quite sorry for Xavier and Hugo in this situation. It’s another very real issue - two people, old friends, arguing while a loved one is in his/her sick bed. You’ve done a really good job at developing both men’s emotions in this scene.

Remy is so adorable, putting himself through additional torture just in order to lift up Demi and assist her. It’s another scene that you’ve really well developed, both from the darkness of the feelings surrounding them and the descriptions of their pain and wounds.

Even though it’s such a sad scene, I was glad to see a little bit more development on Demi’s past. It makes me wish you’d written a story focusing solely on her ;)

Oh my! Another controversial arc! Who are the culprit traitors?

GHOST DIVISION IS THE CULT OF SHADOWS

Screaming Faeries chapter 10 . 7/20/2015
Hey Shane!

So, I loved the start to this. Hermione’s in-character irritation both at the obvious incestuous heritage of Draco, and of being forced to ask for help in her research was great. I’m really excited to read what seems to be another completely unique and interesting idea in your story...

AH what a great little bit of history! You’ve really done a good job of backing up everything with these facts here, and it answers a few other questions, as well as dropping hints - such as, I’m expecting the Dark Lady to be in full physical form, after reading this. Also, does it mean that Tom Riddle no doubt had shadows around him? I’m hopeful to see if there will be any answer on that...

You know, I’m glad you actually brought up the prospect of an army. It makes me wonder why the wizarding world never had one in the first place? Obviously the Auror Department, but what is that other than a magical police force? Maybe the final war wouldn’t have just been full of children and older people if the Ministry were already on form with a proper army xD

I enjoyed the Malfoy-ness of Scorpius in this bit. “He was THE CEO OF MALFOY HOLDINGS!” Very reminiscent of his father!

The files from the Ghost Division sound awful. You’d think they’d at least add in a little warning or disclaimer before just letting the horrific pictures fall straight out onto his lap?

The scenes with Cass are always so hard to read and sad. It’s really painful but poetic just how hard she continues to cling onto the shadow of Albus.

The excitement with this Cult scene is so nerve-wracking! James reminds me quite a lot of Ginny and her maternal ancestors in the sense of choosing to lecture Remy in the middle of (essentially) the battlefield of ALL places xD

The interior of the Cultists hideout is realistically gory, and I like that you took care to point out the smaller details, such as the blood not only being blood, but the blood of virgins. It gives it a slightly religious quality that is clearly being somewhat expressed through this Cult.

...oh my gosh, what a cliffhanger. AGAIN!

Screaming Faeries chapter 9 . 7/20/2015
Hey Shane!

Why is Draco smoking a cigar just so relevant to everything?

I’m interested to see what it is that’s making Draco ill, but something tells me it isn’t just down to stress and a lack of sleep. I liked the focus on Antacid too, it was a good way to lighten up what could’ve been quite a worrisome start (in reference to Draco being ill, not your writing being worrisome :P)

The idea of Hermione being taught to make sure she had dinner with her family is very realistic and I imagine true to her character! It’s something that doesn’t seem very important at a first glance, but it really is when you consider how much time people spend just talking with each other over dinner.

You tend to do that technique (which probably has a literary name I’m not aware of) where you don’t mention the name of whomever you’re in the POV of for a fair few sentences in some of your more nerve-inducing and tentative scenes. I feel like it should maybe have become obvious what your pulling off at this point, but it still adds a really good level of mystery to those first initial paragraphs before you let on who it is in the frame :)

Okay I kind of stopped making notes as I read that AMAZING scene in the woods. It was really well written, aside from a small handful of typos/SPaG errors. I loved the part with James’s vain attempts to kill the shadows particularly - it leaves me in a great deal of wonder as to how it is that Remy managed to use what appears to be a knife to kill them? I’m assuming it’s enchanted.

AND REMY. What an entrance. I am definitely intrigued to know why it is that he is disguised as Snape - at least, I’m assuming his disguise is Snape (hook nose, greasy hair, sallow skin).

WHAT IS THAT FREAKY FRENCH BOOK. AND WHY ARE YOU SO GOOD AT THESE CLIFFHANGERS. ARGH.

Another great chapter!

Screaming Faeries chapter 8 . 7/20/2015
Hey Shane!

First of all, SO SORRY this has taken ages. Damn you busy weekends.

I really liked this little flashback to this little Potter home scene, before everything went, well, topsy-turvy. It was a nice way to remind us that all of these characters, who have been through quite the trauma, were once upon a time quite innocent.

Ha, I almost laughed out loud at Lily’s little exclamation. It was such a key scene that happens in EVERY parents life. And how typical that she would’ve learned that phrase from none other than Ron xD

Even though we’ve seen a few sequences of Harry recovering from a dream/flashback in the cell of Azkaban, you still write it just as raw, harrowing and original as it was the first time round. Great job.

Even though it was only a little comment, I liked the reference to Lucius rolling over in his grave. It’s definitely true!

You really captured Cassiopeia’s emotions just in that split-second moment of her falling through the air. I really liked how you made the time seem to drag out, as if we were watching it in slow motion.

I love the thought of Demi and Remy going into the Chamber of Secrets! And interesting that her family are Parselmouth? Does this mean she may be a descendent of Slytherin? I’m super interested in her character.

Ok, I REALLY want to see Victoire flying in screaming to whatever trouble Remy has got himself into this time!

SCORPIUS IS SUCH A DARLING. Though, he should know better than to send Orion out into this terror-stricken, cult-ridden world on his own...I’m expecting something terrible to happen.

I loved the description of the scene that you set with Scorpius and the proposal. It was beautiful from start to finish, and perfectly reminiscent of what any girl would want in an engagement. Though, I’m still intrigued to know what happened with the old girlfriend...

A really lovely chapter! Looking forward to the next!

Screaming Faeries chapter 6 . 7/12/2015
This is a great opening! I love the filthy and haunting description of the Black Cells, and I was hoping that we would see a snippet of either Ron or Harry suffering in these pits. I wonder what is going to happen now that he has been reintroduced. I’m wondering from the amount of thought that Harry is putting into what he did to Albus, if he is feeling remorseful about the pain he inflicted on his son and subsequently the rest of the world. I hope so.

The flashbacks Harry experienced regarding Teddy were very well drawn out. I liked how they bordered on the same kind of subject but with a different matter almost entirely.

The flashbacks he had regarding his own blood sons were much more painful. I want to feel in a way sorry for Harry, but it’s practically impossible considering what he actually did. Though, it is good that you are making an attempt to bring some of the old Harry back into the story, and essentially tying up everything into a nice clean loop.

I’m glad to see that Harry does appear to regret what he did - but it’s interesting that you added in that he envies and pities Ron. Of course it would be easier to continue to blame everyone else for his behaviour.

Glad that Lily the Daemon has appeared again. I was wondering when we would see some more of her since she was introduced. It’s appropriate that she would go straight to Harry, too - and I like how you have characterized her with the realistic airiness that someone like her would have.

Very much intrigued in the future of this arc! Great chapter!

Screaming Faeries chapter 5 . 7/12/2015
Hey!

I liked Scorpius’s flood of thoughts and emotions at the offset of this chapter. You’ve done a great job of getting across the confusion he is definitely going through at this moment in time. Does he go forward with the woman he loves, or does he remain with the girlfriend and settle for an easy painless life?

Oh, it’s great that he went to Cass. Of course she would be the only one who could really truly tell him how it is.

I really like this idea of Malfoy’s being feircely protective of their mothers. It’s not something I noticed with Draco in the novels, but I guess it could be viewed in that way. It’s a nice sentiment to add, particularly as the Malfoy’s became renowned for being cowardly.

YES Lily is a true female; firstly sarcastically asking him where his girlfriend is. I don’t even care if you didn’t mean for it to be sarcastic - she is a girl who walked in on her old boyfriend with another girl; she meant it sarcastically :P

The Dark Lady, this ghoulish person sounds extremely fearsome just from the title.

I like that Kat has adopted her punk-rock style again, though I didn’t really know that she had ever really lost it :P

I’m glad for an introduction of Pansy! I love Pansy. It seems appropriate that she of all people would join some kind of dark cult like this...

Omg! I wasn’t expecting the Dark Lady to be a shadow! Nor was I expecting her to be BELLATRIX, who I’m assuming she is! Greaaaaaaaaat! This is so exciting! I’m presuming she is hoping to release all of the shadows, and her old master?

Once again you’re doing a good job of getting in different elements of genres into one chapter, instead of keeping it all one level. I enjoy the variation - and I love the idea of the twin girls becoming like the Weasley twins! Poor granddad Draco!

Scorpius is clearly a great dad, offering to pay her more child support than what most would. He’s great.

The scene at the Lupins was great! I loved the idea of Victoire pummelling Remy with a wooden spoon xD Also, you’ve done a brilliant job of having her truly inherit her mother’s Veela temperament.

I hope that there is a break up scene with Adrianna and Scorpius soon!

Another great chapter!

Sophie xxx
Screaming Faeries chapter 4 . 7/12/2015
Hey!

I’m glad to see that Lily has managed to make friends with Louis. It’s sad that she had no real friends in America - but more importantly, I’m hopeful to see more of the character development that you’ve briefly shown us of Louis :P

Aw, James and Lily’s reunion was SO adorable. I love the importance you stressed; that only James could have been the one to really truly make her feel better. I’m glad that it was a fairly happy reunion too; of the pair of them thinking about happy memories relating to Albus. I was expecting something much more explosive, but I like this better.

It comes as absolutely no surprise to me that both Louis and Lavender work for the Witch Weekly magazine xD

I LOVE that Cass is pruning the rose bushes. I know it seems like just a throwaway intro, but of course it’s relative to the meaning of those roses - that Narcissa had pruned them in her sorrow, and now I assume Cass is doing the same. Also, I think it’s perfectly natural that she would spoil Aurora. The poor woman lost one child and then her husband, so if anyone tells her she’s spoiling Aurora I hope she kicks them in the teeth :P

Cass’s scene was painfully well written. It really does break my heart that she still clings to Albus. I hope she can come to let him go soon - surely she can see how awful it is for his shadow to still be on the earth. It’s sad to see that Hermione has just realised that Cass still has Albus’s shadow around, too - I wonder what the Mafoys will do about that, now...

Oooh, cringing at the idea of a tattoo parlour in Knockturn Alley. I do hope the needles are sterilised :P

OMG, I just knew that Lily would turn up to see Scorpius while he was planning to or actually getting down and dirty with his new girlfriend. I’m glad that you pointed out that Scorpius needed to remain closed off to Lily. She did hurt him, and he would definitely be being vulnerable to just throw himself at her.

Bloody hell Adrianna, I know that I just said Scorpius shouldn’t jump straight back into a relationship with Lily but did you have to ruin the moment he was about to have with his son! I can see me and her aren’t going to be friends...

Nonetheless, it definitely made for a great ending to the chapter. Thank Merlin I don’t have to wait for an update! On to the next!

Notes:

“...as she took his hand and led [her] to the bedroom” - I might be wrong, but I think you meant “him” there instead of her :P

Screaming Faeries chapter 3 . 7/12/2015
Hey! Back again :D

So happy to see from the outset that we’re focusing on James already. I was wondering what had happened to him since the last novel.

Ah, it’s interesting to see that James and Cass never managed to continue a friendship after Albus’s death. I thought, after they shared that moment at his grave together, that they might be able to move forward. I hope that they can - seeing as their children would be going to Hogwarts together.

I like James not condoning wizarding clothing for the job! I could hardly imagine a group of these elites known as the “Ghost Division” would wear anything BUT the coolest gear possible, frankly :P

It’s nice and appropriate that James is encouraging his workmates to make family time. I’m sure that comes from a deep place in him.

Also loving the fact that Diagon Alley seems to be having an architectural makeover. I like how you do your best to bring the wizarding world into the twenty first century!

Eeek the description of Teddy from Lily’s POV was perfect. Exactly how I always imagine him!

Even though you haven’t really gone into more detail on Andrea, I get the impression that she’s already quite a bit like Tonks - what with insisting that she gets called “Andy” instead of Andrea :P

I think the scene with Draco, Hermione and Rose was very realistic and appropriate. Even though it seems like the best course of action for everyone to run straight to Scorpius, it should really be Lily who goes to him. However, I get the feeling that Scorpius is going to be the last one to find out, and he’s not going to be happy about that...

This Cult sounds more and more interesting the more I read. Sending back a ripped up corpse? Delightfully dark and gory. I hope there will be more of that to follow...but less of the child-torturing, I pray. Though I must say, you would do a good job of a dark horror flick.

I’m very interested in this Demi character and her lineage. Is she from an OC family, or are some of our favourite old Slytherin’s involved? Another good job of getting some mystique in there!

Notes:

[Quidditch] should be capitalised.

Typo: “Kingsley” has been spelt “Kingley”

Another great chapter! On to the next!

Sophie xxx
Screaming Faeries chapter 2 . 7/11/2015
And so it seems that Hermione has become the new Molly Weasley of the roost! xD

I’m interested to see where Hermione is now. Upon first inspection, it seems as though she is merely a babysitter and a home woman now - which of course would be a VERY strange change of tactic for Hermione, who I imagine to be a resilient career woman right to death.

It is nice to see that she and Draco are still happy though! I hope this relationship manages to remain sturdy!

Haha, the thought of Hermione and Draco sky-diving.

Ah, I like this idea of the Quill and the Book. It makes much more sense that something enchanted like this would write the letter that found Orion and Lily, instead of Rose actually already knowing. Interesting touch and good idea, to swerve any nitpickers out there that were going to strike you down for potentially including a loophole :P

I fail to feel sorry for Lily hating on the ‘unsympathetic’ airport security guards; she should’ve chosen a more convenient route home if she didn’t want to deal with that :P

Oooh Louis! There’s a next-gen character I’d forgotten about. And yay for the first slash couple! I like Lily wondering about how Molly would have approved...it’s believable that while she probably wouldn’t be upset about his sexuality, she definitely wouldn’t have been happy about the lack of EVEN MORE grandchildren.

I’m so glad to see a cutscene to Cass. And I can’t believe that after all this time, she’s still so attached to Albus to see that she’s continuing to keep his shadow in the world. I’m definitely interested to see as to where this is going to head. It’s heartbreaking to see that after all that time, she’s still so pained by his death.

This Ghost Division sounds really interesting. I must say, you’re really imaginative when it comes to thinking up stuff like this - job descrips and appropriate positions (coming from the person who has Barty Crouch working in Admin...high praise XD). I’m also extremely intrigued about this cult you’re throwing hints about...

Another awesome chapter, and I loved the end scene with Kat’s children. It was particularly sad/interesting to see her wondering about what it would be like should she have been in Ginny’s shoes. Here’s hoping that never happens!

In answer to your AN question, my favourite OC has to be Cass!

Notes:

Nitpick alert: I noticed in the last chapter that you were naming the Cataclysm with a lowercase C, but now it’s reverted to an uppercase C. I don’t know which it’s meant to be, so I guess that’s something for you to edit :P

“Mum” as a naming word and not as a possession should be capitalised.

Great job!

Sophie

P.S: I shall be continuing my reviews to you when I wake up; I’m falling asleep RN and I want to be able to actually read clearly xD
Screaming Faeries chapter 1 . 7/11/2015
Hey Shane :D

Oooh, I like the mystery around Lily’s new name. I had a feeling in the second paragraph onwards that it was her, but not from the start. I like this clever and effective opening sequence.

I’m interested to discover what happened to James. I like how you described him as a “ghost” of himself...it seems appropriate considering what he experienced with Albus. But it definitely draws me into wanting to see what happened there.

I really like how you describe the life of Lily Luna as an entire other life. It would be easy for Selena to just talk about when she lived in England, or before she changed her name, but this way of talking about it is much more effective I think.

It’s understandable and realistic that Selena wouldn’t want to return back to England immediately after Harry was incarcerated. Though, I would’ve thought Scorpius would’ve gone looking for her...but who knows, I’m reading on :P

Eeek exciting to see that Orion/Ryan has his Hogwarts letter! And it’s also interesting to see that of course, Rose doesn’t miss a trick as to where he is (much like Dumbledore). I also LOVE that Rose is the headmistress now. That’s a great career choice for her, and I’m looking forward to maybe reading some more on the subject. I’m also glad you just shortened off the letter without going into unnecessary detail.

Yay a cut to Scorpius! Interesting to see he has a girlfriend. Part of me wants to fold my arms and tell him he shouldn’t have abandoned Lily, but the majority knows that Hugo is right. Lily never came back to him, so he shouldn’t have been expected to wait around. A man has needs after all. It’s quite a JKR thing to overly romanticise relationships in the novels, so it’s good to see a very realistic take on things in your stories regarding love and relations.

I’m also so happy to see that Rose and Delphin had babies. I did see on your profile that they had two children, but obviously I didn’t know how. Once again, I’m glad you didn’t go with the romantic notion of some miracle cure for Rose’s inability to carry children - you settled for a very realistic approach of surrogacy.

I do feel a bit annoyed that Lily didn’t even send word that her and Orion/Ryan were okay. I can understand that she didn’t want to come back straight away due to facing the dead that awaited her, but surely she could imagine how everyone would be feeling back in England, having no idea whether she was dead or alive.

The description of this Daemon creature was beautiful. I could practically see the eerie paleness and the blood-red eyes rising from the lake in front of me.

Omg! It’s Lily! I’m feeling a little confused as to where her loyalties lie with this one. Is she more on Harry’s reasoning or Albus’s? I like this whole idea that Albus damaged these doors of death.

Overall, this is extremely exciting and a very promising start. Unlike The Good Son, which kind of had no initial opening of this dark future, this does - which leaves me very excited to read on. Great job!

Notes:

In your third paragraph from the top, you use the word ‘picture’ at least three times in one sentence. I know it’s a bit of a nitpick, but it might have been a bit more appropriate to use a synonym or two there :)

Some paragraphs are quite fast paced and lacking punctuation. I think you could add some more commas/semi colons where necessary upon editing.

“How many potential friendships...bigoted past.” - is a question, but you haven’t added a question mark.

Little typo: ‘envelop’ has been spelled without an ‘e’.

But.. But I ship Scorose, not Scorily D:
OnyxFeather chapter 14 . 4/18/2015
So it seems following the dreaded attack things are slowly recovering. The bit where you describe the events in Hogsmeade. it might have been nice if I actually got to experience that rather than reading about it through Draco's thoughts. But I also get that the aim of this chapter was to set the ending to this book, before you kick off with the next part of the series.

'Was this the price for his sins as a Death Eater?' - This was the bit where I was really drawn into Draco's feelings about the whole thing. I found myself interpreting the events that had passed through his eyes and that gave a very different context to this story.

'A heart attack...Such a muggle way to go.' - A nice way to end this story with a very clear openning for the next. Already you've hooked us in because now I must know what happens to Draco...and I'm secretly hoping I don't come across a funeral...(probably in vain)

The best bit for me was actually your descriptions of his experience of a heart attack. I liked the way you broke it down to very minute details. I think the coffee spilling and the cup rolling across the floor really set up that slow motion feel to this scene, and enhances that image of Draco slowly losing awareness.

Finally, I am all caught up!
