XD oh my gosh I love Phoebe and Gerald plotting behind their best friends’ backs... hopefully all this plotting will get THEM together too, because he clearly didn’t take Helga seriously and still hasn’t made a move. Also their reactions when they realize their sneaky little plan also means THEY are gonna share a cabin lmao
This story was just a sweet and hilarious as I remember so I’m glad I found it again. Definitely favorited it this time so it doesn’t go anywhere lol

The only one who can make your life better is you.” This is why I love Helga. While she has a soft and sensitive side—usually brought out by the people she really cares about like Arnold and Phoebe—she’s also really freaking confident and independent and doesn’t anyone to “save” her. Because she can save herself. I love that :)

Lol the whole ending to this chapter was amazing. I kind of liked the mystery where we don’t know EXACTLY what Arnold to Helga, just that it was enough for her to practically tear up and immediately forgive him. It reminded me a lot of that episode on the Office where Pam thinks she isn’t good enough for Jim, so he finally gives her the note he made back when he got her the teapot for Secret Santa. And we don’t see what it says but we see her tear up and realize how much he loves her. So that was freaking precious is pretty much what I’m trying to say.
Also Gerald adding stuff in that he claimed was stuff Arnold told him in secret but he thought it would help the note work lmao oh Geraldo...

“Gerald considered smacking Arnold at the back of the head, but somehow it didn’t seem likely that Arnold would get his message if he did that. This stupid, DENSE KID!” XD My sentiments exactly, Geraldo. Like Arnold, we love you sweetie but you’re resting our effing patience, boy...

Like oh my gosh that was so funny but also so frickin cute? Like how the heck do you do that? Teach me your way, buddy :P
Oh my gosh I love when he’s hardcore flirting with her during that song and pull her to him really fast and Helga’s internally like “OH DEAR GOD” because same tbh like this is so intense lmao this new side of him is so slick
Also I LOVED the part where she had a deja-by moment when they little and she said Arnold was being kind of rough and then he’s all smooth like “You’re in good hands,” Like oh my gosh what a pleasant throwback... I always nearly die laughing at that scene when I rewatch the April Fools episode... especially because Craig confirmed that since it was made after the movie, this when Arnold knows how Helga feels so he was TOTALLY flirting with her and I remember being like “OH MY GOSH HE’S ACTUALLY FLIRTING WITH HER—THIS ISN'T LIKE THE TIME WHEN HE SQUIRTS WATER AT HER AND WINKS BUT IT’S KIND OF OPEN-ENDED IF HE WAS FLIRTING NO HE IS HONEST TO CRIMINY FLIRTING WITH HER”

“How do other girls do this everyday?!” Oh my gosh I totally agree with Helga because I’ve been to two school dances and both times my friend tried to put eyeliner on me but couldn’t because I kept flinching so I went without.
“Uh-uh!” *Gerald points at Arnold and slaps his hand away from his tie* “I JUST got you into believing me, don’t you DARE change your mind again. Next time, I’ll take a picture of your eyes or something so you can see it for yourself.” Ahaha oh Gerald XD

I honestly about busted out laughing (keep in mind it’s midnight and everyone in my house is asleep) when Gerald slapped Arnold in the head and said “This is where Dark Arnold is supposed to come out and STOP Cowboy Casanova from moving in on his girl!” I swear that boy’s gonna be the death of me
Wow I felt so bad that normal, sweet little Arnold doesn’t remember much of what he does when his darker side takes over, and so he has no idea why Helga’s trying to avoid him and he’s just sad. Like oww your poor little buddy.
Also dang can Luka not take an effing hint? It’s literally like that song “Take a Hint” where the guy keeps pursuing her and she’s like “Dude back off” XD
