TWO new chapters, hurrah! Beautifully sad and oh so creepy...I love your description of the way he posed and paired them all in death. That's exactly how Jimmy would think. And I love seeing Desiree and Jimmy getting each other through that horror and giving their family the best end they could.

I still feel that the show stumbled on the endings of Stanley and Dandy. I understand why they did it that way-because Dandy had to be the last to go and because they figured most people would prefer to see FW in wet tighty-whities than DO'H! -but to me it would have felt more appropriate to swap their fates. Leaving Stanley drowned in the tank and left there "on display" fits better, since he's the one responsible for bringing Ma Petite to that fate (and wanting/trying to do the same to Paul, Dot, Bette and whoever else he could). And turning Dandy into the ultimate mutilated freak, making his internal deformity and ugliness external and depriving him of his 'perfect' physical appearance (which he was WAY too into!) would be a better punishment in that classic 'be careful what you wish for' dark fairytale way. But I like it better after the way you describe it, and it IS perfect justice for Stanley, whose defining characteristic was greed, to die of starvation, all alone.

I feel the spirit of a proud, loving mother in this chapter so strongly. Jimmy is a lucky boy...and so is DS ;)

what the heck happened to stanley, anyway? after they turned him into meep 2.0, i mean? hmm...

i'm interested in seeing how that all played out!

"the drowning of the dickweed." hahaha! i'm rolling over here! but on a more serious note, i did enjoy the structure of this chapter quite a bit. the "show" aspect of it was PERFECT when the content is taken into account. fantastic! can we get to a happy (-ish) part now? lol.

So you know in the Murder House finale, right after Violet says "Goodbye Tate"? The close-up shot of Tate's face as he reacts? That was exactly me reading this. I'm not being hyperbolic. The actual finale didn't make me cry (though god, it depressed me) and I've never outright sobbed over fanfic before. But there you have it. You win that prize.

Beautiful chapter.
For what it's worth, here's how it works in my imagination: between the time of this story and that of the 'domestic bliss' scene we see at the end of the last Freak Show ep, Jimmy does get hooks. Because he has to work to support himself (and Dot, Bette and baby makes four eventually), and he can do more with hooks. He wears them for working, and then comes home at the end of the day and changes into his wooden hands. Like Mr. Rogers with his cardigan, only AHS-beautifully-weirdo-world style.
Sometimes I think I could understand quantum physics if Evan Peters could act it out.

am i the only one who laughed when massimo, the carpenter, mentioned that he was like pinocchio? at that point i might've been looking for a bright spot in all the depression tho. that's just me lol.

i'll give you major props here: i didn't like this episode. like, i hated it. to the point where it completely took me out of the show and i didn't care as much as i should've about the finale. but you did a great job with it and brought me back in it. *round of applause* lol.

Not sure what this says about me, but I'm loving the Maggie-hate in this chapter! I think that telling her off was the beginning of Jimmy's rise back to life and self, his first
act of accepting that he could and would go on despite his pain and loss. Even though he doesn't realize it himself yet.

I love the final image of Ma Petite, closing out this (necessary) bitterness with a memory of the sweetness life can also hold. Keep that Mack truck rolling!

the fanfic outage was awful!

but anyway. i give jimmy a pass on being a whiner. no hands, no pain killers. and then he finds out that his dad, who he was just starting a tentative relationship with, is not only dead but also responsible for the death of one of his favorite people in the whole world. the poor dude.

still makes me sad what happens to maggie tho. she's the only one who doesn't regress backwards! she actually tried to make things right...

Oh so brutal... so glad you're not going to leave him here much longer... Right?
