WARNING: Below is a LONG text on reviewing this story. If you want to avoid all that, just go to the bottom for the TL;DR.

Whew boy! It's has been a journey to come this far, and I have to say that while it might not necessarily be the perfect TMNT story, it is certainly a lot of fun. I love how this fanfic immediately tells you this is another iteration of the turtles that has its own female member (which doesn't feel tacked on like other fanfics), and how this story takes cues from other TMNT media while giving its own spin on them (which can be a problem but I’ll get into that later). I also like how a lot of changes from established media (at least in the beginning) are centered around the female OC, Hisako (who is basically taking April’s place from the 2012 cartoon), so much that MOST of the chapters aren't just full on retreads of the same story with little-to-no changes to character development whatsoever.

Regarding the characters, I was surprised how invested I became with not only Hisako but these versions of the turtles, since you get to see them bond and understand one another deeply as they struggle against Stockman before coming up against the Shredder (whom I thought was almost as good as the 2003 Shredder, but maybe not 100% because I thought). Even a lot of the other minor characters are interesting, e.g. I feel the Foot Council is better than their 2003 counterparts (I like the 2003 cartoon but that season kinda dipped down in quality) since it better shows the inner workings of the Foot Ninja which we haven’t seen; and Murakami being an actual Foot ninja is something I guessed when he first appeared (something that made me go "ooooh, that's really interesting!").

At the same time, I do have some issues (take a deep breath):

First, I felt as though they had been resolved too quickly and/or character changes had been a bit sudden (e.g. Karai turning good happened in a few chapters instead of being stretched out long enough). Also, I did mention this story takes some of the cues from other TMNT media, and it felt a little copy-and-paste at times, like with the chapter of Raph and Tyler (I may have been alright with those kind of things as a teen, but as an adult, I feel differently).

Another example of this would the Battle Nexus, since I first assumed it would be a bit different from the 2003 cartoon (especially when you see Usagi whom I thought was from 2003 cartoon) but a lot of things did turn out the same and I thought they didn’t have to be (especially when it would’ve been nice if your Mikey saw a statue of the 2003 Mikey).

Lastly, some of the characters kind of fade in and out, in terms of importance to the story. It felt a bit weird to have April or Casey be sidelined, or at least not in on the action (compared to their 2003 and 2012 counterparts); and I thought Hisako most of all felt less and less insignificant as cast became more of an ensemble (with Casey, Miwa, April, etc.) in certain stories. For certain bits in the ‘lost in space’ arc (with introducing the Fugitoid and the Triceratons), I felt Hisako could’ve been better off by just being unconscious or out of the picture because I thought she didn’t really serve any purpose than just to give a comment or two (but maybe that’s because I’m comparing it to the 2003 cartoon, I dunno). There are also tiny nitpicks (the nerd in me is like "the Colosseum is in Rome, not Greece!”), but I think a little bit of editing can easily fix that.

TL;DR: The story is very interesting and does well with what has already come before and introducing new twists that help make it feel a bit fresh. It does suffer from issues with pacing of characters and character arcs, but I think it does an alright job overall, and I hope this story does very well to bring out the best in its potential and characters. As if this couldn't get any worse for the Turtles and their allies. Or maybe it can! The government

may order the creations of the M.O.U.S.E.R.S and then set them on the mutants everywhere and

before they know it, they begin to target the humans too when their command center who happened

to be an AI has seen that the humans are nothing but trouble as well. I can see the M.O.U.S.E.R.S

from small size that we all know to the giant ones at 20 ft. tall patrol the city in search for targets

to eliminate. I know that just sound like Days of Future Past from the X-Men but from the look of

how things are going, that seems to be unavoidable. Thus, seeing descendants of Casey and April

like Cody Jones traveled back in time to change the past sound like something awesome!

Ah awesome chapter love it and I love the ship of LH and hisako lol but keep up the awesome job

This is a good story. It is a mix of TMNT 03, 07 and 12 with some possible hints of 87, 14 and 16. All in all it is a good story.

I will admit. When I was reading the theme song and the way it was set out, I was kind of meh. But boy, you showed me big time, the starting with Mria and her father was beautiful. Everything else after that was just awesome, I'm looking forward into seeing the next chapter. Now with the episode new girl, can't wait to see how you handle rest with this format. :)
