I'm so glad I found this. I recently dove back into the Sage history and wow. This was powerful. Makes me appreciate Raine more as a character, and she was already one of my favorites! The whole thing, especially her fear of Genis and the Desians, I loved it. All of the sadness and suffering made the ending of this so heartbreakingly amazing. I cried. Well done!

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go yell at Raine for letting us die in an important boss fight.

This is so good!

Lurian was not like I expected him to be, but then again, nothing in this story is, which I rather like! His way of speaking is unrefined and doesn't reflect his intelligence, but he does seem to be the kind of person Raine needs. No pretty words, no false fronts. He says what he thinks and means it! For Raine, who's be betrayed so much so far, he is just the person to make her feel safe again.

I really like this story! All of the characters seem realistic to me, and Raine's backstory is something I don't see explored often in fanfic. The events here fit in perfectly with her personality as depicted in the game.
I particularly liked the portrayal of Ma'am and the professor - their ambiguous motives and overall actions make them more recognizable and terrifying as villains. It's just so sad to see Raine losing her innocence and being betrayed by all the people she thought were helping her.

Even though this chapter was less eventful than the last few, I think it is important that Raine had that dream about her mom. She needs to start letting go and stand on her own more.
That said, I'm very excited to see how you handle the events in Asgard. We got a few hints about it in the game, but I was so sad when I couldn't fine any information about it! Keep up the excellent work, and Happy Holidays!

Another wonderfully written chapter. Every time I one I always find a word that has me reaching for my dictionary! It's wonderful to read something so intelligently written! And once again this chapter gives us another look into Raine's mind, particularly with how she chooses to classify herself and Genis.

Another great chapter, and another one awaits me next! This was really good, and definitely explained her explosive tendencies. I never thought about it until now, but for logical Raine, a big explosion does seem too extreme for her to think of, so this really sheds some light on her rational!

It's really sad that the professor that Raine admired wasn't going to save her, but it does explain her cynicism towards love and men at times. This story is really amazing, and I just love seeing what you come up with for each chapter!

I really like the way that you write Raine's child character. She is so much like Raine, but younger. I think you got it spot on! :)
