Have you ever considered writing a chapter where bella, edward and emi go to visit Charlie in forks and bump into mike. I bet bella would want to hide and protect her baby from being Mike laying eyes on her. And fierce daddy edward and bella's other half would be interesting reacting to seeing Mike would be interesting. He'd be out of prison now so i feel it's plausible.

Bella was happy as a child but her parents were still neglectful. I thought they were during cannon, too. Stephanie chose Renee to be as flighty as she was so that Bella could be seen as so much more mature than the other girls~ aka special~ but she a parentified child and that is a form of neglect. How a parent can have a full time job as a teacher and then take multiple classes like painting and yoga and dancing and traveling with her boyfriend - that leaves little time for Bella.

Emmett is obnoxious! His version of “tough love” is too much. I’m glad Rosalie is staying away if that’s how she feels, they’re both insensitive. Only Rosalie can be miserable right? He should get her help and not encourage that negative way of thinking, that they should get Bella’s baby because they’ll actually love it. As if Edward and Bella won’t love their baby! Bella has been through a lot, the don’t know her at all. She’s young and scared but she’s still processing as is Edward. Just because they’re not jumping for joy in such a tangled situation doesn’t mean their baby won’t be loved. She should adopt, then. Focus her energy on babies and children that actually are being abused/neglected instead of Edward for not skipping off into the sunset. They’re really holding his grief and depression against him, that’s toxic.

I don't like Emily, at all. I actually just imagined Rose in her place and that thought didn't bother me as much. Maybe because I'm used to stories having Rose in a bitch character but even for her I think it would have been over the line. The man just said he panicked because he lost a baby, you would think she could have taken it down a notch after that.
I'm not really understanding Bella's problem at all. Mike took the choice away from her...? It sounded to me like he beat the hell out of her and she lost a baby...? So she has to have an abortion now? What kind of sense does that make? I understand not wanting to be connected to another abusive man, that part makes total sense. If mike killed her baby and she was devastated than her killing another baby doesn't make sense to me. I would think she would feel the opposite. I would think a mother would protect the baby with everything she had after loosing one already.

This was a beautiful chapter. I’ve read and loved so many of your stories I don’t know how I missed this one. You have captured the feeling of grief and loss so beautifully. But I am really amazed at how well you have portrayed Bella as an abuse survivor. I worked for years in a domestic violence shelter. It was a hidden shelter so we took in especially bad cases. You have done a spot on job with portrayal of Mike & his family life, the mother’s idea of women “needing a good whack,” and Bella’s flashbacks which are basically now PTSD reactions. I too survived abuse when those flashbacks hit it is...well there are no words. Thank you for such a wonderful story. I wish we all could find an Edward to help us heal.
