I think the lenght, style and ending were all good together. Not all the questions need to be answered, and in this case I don't think it really matters what happens next to the thieves. The focus point here was Peter and Neal and their relationship together. It was beautifully written :) Especially the last lines.

Love the abrupt ending. It really shows how much Peter really does care about Neal. It leaves the reader guessing about what could have happened (most likely Peter catching the baddies;), and I love it! Fantastic job with this little story! Thanks for sharing!
