Haha, Mary just coming out and saying it was great.

The walk home was great. Loved the exchange about it being racy and erotic, and John having such an effect on her just from kissing her cheek and neck. I also liked the way that it occurred to Anna that she could use his affections against him. Either of the Bateses being devious makes me smile – especially if it’s put to good use like it is here! ;)

And the ways that she teased him were just brilliant, oh my God. Sprawling naked on the settee and making him clean up the mess he made, making him read to her and stopping him from touching her whenever he tried to.

And the lovemaking was hot! I love how the need had built up all night and they were so passionate and desperate for each other. The carnal element of it made it even more enjoyable to read – there’s something very satisfying about hot, sweaty desire!

In all, this was a great read. I’ll definitely be returning to it one day!

Hee hee, this was fun. Love Anna and John being so naughty, and getting rather into the moment despite their surroundings. ;) And Lady Mary’s interruption was great. I loved how she took it in stride and her snarky comment about John being helpful made me laugh.
