Rose chapter 29 . 7/20 Hey! So. Phew. My goodness. I came back to this fic... god, probably five or six years after I first read it? I started reading when there were only about five chapters and stuck with it religiously until the very end. This fanfiction honestly changed my life, as cheesy and over the top as it sounds. I was young and scared and confused about just about everything in my life. I knew that I liked girls, but I also knew that I liked guys. I had no idea that there were more than two genders. I didn't know that nonbinary people existed, and didn't even have a concept of pronouns like "xie" and "xer". This fic was the first place that I was exposed to sexualities other than "gay" (which was still pretty taboo in my surroundings) and "straight". It was a safe, goofy, fun environment where I was allowed to roll around new ideas in my mind until I found a place for them to fit, where there was no judgement or pressure on me to move faster than I was comfortable. I had never heard of asexuality or aromanticism, and so I went searching for more information. When my best friend came out as ace three years afterwards, I couldn't help but remember this fic as the first step towards me understand what that was, and without that first foray I'm certain I would have been a lot more confused and it would have made her coming out process considerably harder. I found diversity flourishing in every chapter; people written as being Korean and Chinese and Black and Brazilian not for a Thematic Reason but just because why not? As someone who grew up in the south, the number of books I read with more than one POC could probably have been counted on one hand. This fic opened my eyes to how freaking white my surroundings were, and absolutely influenced the way that I looked at literature going forward, and probably did more for me than any half-assed retreat my school attempted. I remember how shocked I was when I read the chapter where Aphrodite shifted into a chubby girl that she wasn't described as "pleasantly curvy" or "hourglass". She was fat, and it was beautiful, and as foolish as it sounds, that one throwaway line meant so MUCH to me when I was struggling with my body image. When I first figured out that I was bisexual, I spent an hour crying on the floor before shaking myself and sharply compartmentalizing the side of me attracted to women for three years. I figured it would be easier to just ignore the side of my that loved girls considering my surroundings. This fic gave me hope. It normalized girls loving girls. It didn't make me proud of my sexuality, but it made me more open to it. And when I hit high school and fell head over heels in love with the beautiful girl in my theater class, I had the confidence to tell her how I felt and to have two magical years with her. And the root of that confidence and openness was this fic. Will as a guy with Asperger's. Drew with an inhaler. Platonic powers. You have no idea how much it meant to have a piece of writing that I could easily access as many times as I wanted putting details like these in as facts and character details, not punchlines or "explanations". And you did that while still writing a ridiculously entertaining fic, funny and poignant and just a flat out good story, which is part of the reason that it's so approachable. I'm looking back on this now as a rising college sophomore. I am a proud and out bisexual woman. I still live in the south, but I'm in as liberal a part of it as I can get and I plan to move to New York for graduate school. This fic was the catalyst, the beginning of my foray into critical thinking. I honestly can't express how much this fic meant to me in middle and early high school. Thank you for writing it, thank you for influencing kids like I was who are scared and confused and just trying to figure things out. If you ever want to contact me (no pressure :-) my email is . One last thank you, and I hope you're having an amazing day, an amazing life, and are doing exactly what you want to be doing. |

Guest chapter 23 . 7/2 In case you hadn't learned yet, in short, the "Brace yourself, drama is coming" is from GOT or Game Of Thrones. Love Thomas Sanders vines as well lol |
Guest chapter 29 . 6/25 K, so while I was in the middle of reading this last chapter (beautifully written, btw) Always by Panic! At The Disco came on (bc I like to listen to music while reading) and it hit the chorus right as Will was walking down the isle and faded out on 'It was always you' at their kiss and it was just so perfect and sweet. After I finished the song I looked it up on YouTube and listened to in on repeat for the rest of the chapter lol. |
idek chapter 29 . 6/24 Wow, well, I set out on the internet at 10:00 pm to find some short fan fiction to read before bed and stumbled upon this... It's 1:00 am now. Overall, loved the story! Now Imma go do whatever normal people do at 1:00 am... I believe it's called sleeping? Brain: Yeah, sure, but what about instead of sleeping you listen to the Animaniac's country song on repeat and try to memorize every single Micheal Scott quote? Me:... Me: K, sounds good. |
gmythgirl223 chapter 1 . 5/19 Lollll, I died reading this xD "Doesn't that mean Oh The Pain?" Piper says it means One True Pairing." "Oh." Pause. "What's the difference?" This is really good, I can't wait to keep reading :) |
SolangeloIsCanon chapter 29 . 5/13 YES THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS INTO MY LIFE |
IDK chapter 1 . 4/23 XD |
TheTimeTraveler24 chapter 28 . 1/21 *scanning reviews, scanning reviews* Holy Hera! Gotta apologize for that one review you received saying this was boring! Whoever wrote that clearly doesn’t know good writing when they see it! I love how it was drawn out like a real relationship might me in real life. (Plus gave us more solangelo content that way ;) ) Good job! Hope to see the last chapter up one day! |
TheTimeTraveler24 chapter 8 . 1/20 As a supernatural fan myself… yeah, like 9 times out of 10 someone dies in the first five minutes. As for Destiel… everyone loves it. Everyone ships it. Dean just doesn’t understand what the SPN family understands. I pray it becomes canon before the show ends. |
not-toDAY chapter 29 . 10/2/2019 This fic is AMAZING! Definitely on the list of best Solangelos I've ever read. Perfect balance of humor and angst, plus fLufF of course. Plus the writing is SO good, the style is engaging, and it's acTUaLly got good grammar unlike some fanfiction. Anyways, LOVED IT, obsessed, expectations for Solangelo have been raised. |
Isabela chapter 14 . 6/17/2019 why are you putting zher and zhe its really annoying. |
