Little continuity error there... Tali starts out as nar Raya (as it's correct in this timeline) but becomes vas Normandy a few lines later, which I can understand since I absolutely adore it when she gets Normandy as her shipname... Other than that this is really good! I liked how distrusting and careful shep's beeing. There are many crossovers out there, where she/he just accepts help and surrenders herself and her crew, which is really not in character for paragon or renegade shep. I'm looking forwar to more!

I'm thinking that putting this pre-Borg is a bit of a stroke of genius. I think that the crew would be a lot less condescending and superior-feeling if they'd already had their first serious run-in with their galaxy's equivalent of the Reapers.

If I'm right and this is post-ME1, I wonder if Shepard will think to share the records of the Terminus Campaign with Picard? I think that he would understand their situation and behaviour a lot more if he understood that the crew of the Normandy had just finished a very stressful mission against a genocidal enemy and now are searching for clues as to another one.

FWIW, I would love to see the TNG's crew's reaction to how the System Alliance inserts exploration parties onto planets. It's the sort of thing that only Tom Paris in ST-VOY would love and you KNOW that he would have suggested it more than once if he thought that he could persuade Janeway that it was necessary.

It should be recalled that Trek is about 300 years further into the future than Mass Effect.

Additionally, the Trek Earth united only after two cataclysmic wars - The Eugenics War in the 1990s and the Third World War in the 2050s - in between which there were a series of social breakdowns and explorations of political and social tyranny that sound like something from a nightmare. Basically, the people of Trek Earth have, collectively, gone through experiences that soured them forever on the concepts of aggressive nationalism, ideology and the pursuit of wealth.

FWIW, I suspect that paragon!Shepard would actually have some similar world-views to Picard.

So, how could this have happened. The trick is the Normandy's ezero core. If Joker had tried to evade the Collector cruiser by triggering the FTL drive after the core was damaged, it might have created an unstable wormhole. Basically, they could have accidentally been kicked 'sideways' across trans-brane space into a whole different universe.

So many characters, so much banter. This would have been better animated.

This is really, really a good crossover!

Its a good story, though at this point in TNG, Geordi isn't the Chief Engineer. He is the helm officer I believe and fourth in command following Data and Riker. At this point I believe the engineer is a slightly older woman called Arguile or something like that. Its not until the second season, after the departure of Tasha that Geordi becomes chief engineer and promoted from LT JG to full LT.

Damm love this story...and I am alredy feeling sorry for any poor StarFleet sucker with the bright idea of trying to kindap member of Normandy's crew or Enterpise...tho it could lead to nice Good Cop/Bad Cop situatin with Shep and Picard.
that said I am eagerly waiting for the next update.
