's creepy. I don't like the dark either. We have a finished basement which contains our family room. It's not scary at all. But sometimes at night after locking up and turning off the lights I hear footsteps behind me as I ascend the stairs.

Our house was haunted once but only to hear footsteps at night. Sometimes a little boy or a child playing with balls on our stairs while running down it. Sometimes when I'm alone I would hear it scream but only like a whisper. It was creepy. So I asked my mom if we could burn all our things that has demon associated with it. Such as horror movies, a cross/ rosaries (the previous owner must have left it or a friend.)(I'm a Jehovah's witness we don't believe in crosses or something) old things, porn movies and etc. Safe to say they are not here now. But like you, I'm still afraid of the dark.

Wow that is scary to even consider. I'm a punk that loves scary ish, but couldn't fathom anything confirming my fears of the unknown. After the blessing, was there any other occurrences?

I had a similar experience in the first house my hubby and I lived in together, except it was upstairs where I felt uncomfortable. From the moment I stepped foot in the house I felt uncomfortable, and the longer the stayed, the more intense it got. Being upstairs by myself at night was not an option. I would feel a dark presence watching me from our office. It was very menacing, and whenever I absolutely had to be in that room, I could tell I was unwelcome. The longer that we lived there, the worse it got. Most nights I would feel something watching me from the foot of the bed, and after a while it became so intense that even when we were downstairs we could feel something watching us from the stairs. It didn't bother my husband much, but seemed to prey on me. He was in the army band at the time and sometimes had to work gigs at night, and those nights were the worst. I never heard anything, but sometimes things would be out of place. And I did feel something touch me once or twice. My husband and I are paranormal investigators, and we did check out the house, but I could never get up the courage to listen to the recordings! When my husband came up on orders it was such a blessing, but still, three years later, that experience has stuck with me. I still dream about that place sometimes! Most people think of horror movie special effects when they think of hauntings, but in truth the experience is often much more subtle and psychological, and that's where the true terror comes in. You can really feel like you are losing your mind. My own experiences aside, I loved the story! Perfect for Halloween!

Love the story, I' ve seen the same things you've seen, except it happens in my living room. my house is old and the floorboards creak. i just try to ignore it.

I love this one shot! It is late at night and I am in the dark and I feel a strong need to look around me! lol I really enjoyed this. We have a few ghost stories of our own in my family! I'm not crazy! Well, maybe just a little bit! ;)
