TrekDr chapter 1 . 4/22/2017 Love this one as well! Going back in time in fanfiction |
Cheile chapter 1 . 12/16/2015 This is extraordinarily beautiful and paints a vivid image in so few words. I can hardly begin to describe how much this hits the feels with its beauty, but I will do my best. You begin with Kathryn coming awake in the soft glow of the pre-dawn, which I feel helps set the pace for this entire piece. It's almost a slow-motion rising to awareness, which in a sense it is since she is awakening. I giggled a bit at the mention of snoring and I thought it was adorable that she finds it a sound she loves (since most people dislike it), but when you love someone that deeply, you grow to love even their little annoying-seeming idiosyncracies. I love how her reaching out to touch him is what stirs him to his own awakening, even tho she's trying not to awaken him. But he stirs anyway at her lightest touch. It is a beautiful way to show how perfectly in sync they are with one another. Chakotay's part is equally lovely. Since he's not the one to awaken first, it makes sense that, as he comes to, his first awareness of sensation is more along the lines of touch/feel – the feel of her body next to and against his, bringing with it that familiarity of their many years together. I LOVE the last two sets of lines, where you combine the thread of memory from the day they met with how she is now the treasure of his heart and life. A lifetime of waking up together, indeed. :sigh: It's as gorgeous as the words you use in your descriptives. My one and only suggestion would be to put a dividing line between your author's note and the story itself so they don't run together. Beyond that, absolutely phenomenal writing. Well done. |

Everything I have read from you is excellent and conjures up the characters as if they are real personas. Hope you complete your others as well one day. |
