Well written! It kind of captures the spirit of "Kingdom." Bad things happen yeah, but you can't let it phase you, because there's a lot in life (often the simplest things) that's worth living for. I also liked your sort of insight into Lyle's mind and personality. You should definitely write more "Kingdom" stuff.
